Australian bowler Nathan Lyon has admitted that playing in subcontinent conditions is not really their strength. The comment came ahead of their tour match against Pakistan A on September 29, which will serve as a forerunner to Australia's two-match Test series against Pakistan beginning October 7 in Dubai.

The 30-year-old, however, added that he would look to have a successful campaign in the series.

"We know as the Australian cricket team, it hasn't really been our strength, the subcontinent," the Sydney Morning Herald quoted Lyon, as saying.

"I know personally, I'm looking to really turn that success around for the Australian cricket side," he added.

Reflecting on his strategy ahead of the Pakistan series, Lyon said that he would find a way to hit the stumps. The Pakistani batsmen attacked me the last time we played and I am expecting the same kind of treatment here as well, he continued.

"You have to find a way to hit the stumps, and that may be bowling square or round-arm, whatever it may be. Four years ago or however long it was, they really tried to attack me, so I'm expecting pretty much the same type of batting," Lyon said.

"They've got different guys, rather than Younis (Khan) and Misbah (ul-Haq), but they've still got a very talented batting line up, some superstars in there as well," he added.

Australia are slated to play their first Test against Pakistan from October 7 in Dubai, followed by the second match at Abu Dhabi from October 16.
