Rohit Sharma is one happy man after he received a special gift in form of WWE Championship Belt from WWE Superstar Triple H who lived up to his promise of presenting the Mumbai Indians captain with a customised belt. Mukesh Ambani owned franchise Mumbai Indians is one of the most popular teams in the lucrative Indian Premier League (IPL).
The blue brigade led by Rohit Sharma defeated Rising Pune Supergiants in a thrilling finale of the tenth edition of IPL. In the dramatic encounter, Mumbai bowlers showed great talent to defend a low score of 129 runs against a strong Pune batting lineup which boasts off names like Ajinkya Rahane, Steve Smith and MS Dhoni. Mumbai won the match by one run to lift their third IPL title. Rohit becomes the first captain to win the coveted title three times.
After Mumbai’s sensational win, WWE superstar and COO Triple H had taken to Twitter to announce that he will soon send a customised championship belt for the winners. On Thursday morning, the wrestling legend once again took to the micro-blogging website to reveal that the championship belt is on its way. He also posted a picture of the belt on his Twitter account.
On receiving the special gift, Rohit Sharma expressed his gratitude towards the WWE COO and posed with the prestigious belt.
The official Twitter handle of Mumbai Indians also thanked Triple H for the gesture.
In the past as well, the 14-time WWE champion had given similar gifts to Chelsea after their emphatic English Premier League triumph. NBA franchise Golden State Warriors too received a similar belt by the WWE legend for winning the 2016 NBA Championships.
