Two-time champions Chennai Super Kings will make their long-awaited return to the Indian Premier League and it seems like it is former Team India skipper Mahendra Singh Dhoni who is excited to make a comeback into the league, sporting the yellow jersey. CSK, who make a return after being suspended for two years are ready to kick things off when they face arch-rivals Mumbai Indians in the 2018 IPL opener.
CSK skipper Dhoni, who was rested from the Team India squad for the recently concluded Nidahas Trophy in Sri Lanka, which India won, has been practising his big shots which has already got the fans all riled up.
Dhoni was seen having a crack in the nets and as the date get closer, the Indian cricket fans and especially the CSK fans will expect the wicket-keeper batsman step up and set the stage on fire. Take a look.
Dhoni was retained by CSK in the IPL auctions in January along with Suresh Raina and Ravindra Jadeja after his two-year stint with Rising Pune Supergiants.
The CSK skipper has led the team to lift the trophy twice and back to back in 2010 and 2011 and help the Thalaivas win the Champions League T20 in 2010.
Dhoni has played 159 matches with CSK and RPS where he has scored 3561 runs with a highest of 70*.
Chennai will aim to kickstart their campaign with a bang as they take on the defending champions Mumbai Indians on April 7.
