MS Dhoni becomes first to complete 50 catches in T20I cricket, claims 5 against England in Bristol

The 37-year-old Dhoni achieved this feat in his 93rd T20 Internationals and his tally of catches has risen up to 54 in the shortest format of the game.

MS Dhoni completes 50 catches in T20I cricket, the first to claim five in one as well

Mahendra Singh Dhoni today completed a coveted double in T20 internationals, becoming the first cricketer to take five catches in a match and also reach 50 scalps in the shortest format. (IND vs ENG 3rd T20I HIGHLIGHTS)

The 37-year-old Dhoni achieved this feat in his 93rd T20 International. His tally of catches has risen up to 54.

He first completed a half-century of caught behind when he snapped Jason Roy off debutant Deepak Chahar's bowling. He then played his part in the dismissals of Alex Hales, Eoin Morgan, Jonny Bairstow and Liam Plunkett.

England had lost four wickets for 46 before this partnership set in, with Bairstow, the aggressor, hitting two fours and two sixes. There was another mini-collapse thereafter, as the hosts lost five wickets for 21 runs in the last 14 balls to finish below the 200-run mark.

Pandya was the standout bowler in the innings after a poor start, and Umesh, as well as Kaul, complimented him towards the death, with Dhoni taking five catches a day after his 37th birthday on Sunday

Team India opener Rohit Sharma slammed his third ton against England in the same math as well to lead India to a 7 wicket win and help the Men in Blue to clinch the three-match series 2-1. 

After setting a gigantic target of 199 for India to chase on a challenging wicket, the opener played some fearless and effortless cricket to lead India all the way, giving them a historic T20I series win in England.
