IPL 2019, Kolkata vs Hyderabad, Match 2: KKR won the match by 6 wickets
* Phew. What a match. Unbelievable scenes at Eden. At the end of the 16th over in the first innings, Kolkata seemed down and out, with Hyderabad ready to touch 200. They pulled it back. At the end of the 16th over in the second innings, Kolkata seemed down and out again, needing 59 from the final 4 overs. But the end is what matters.
19.53 IST: Shakib Al Hasan to Shubman Gill, SIX. Game, set and match! That is how they say in Tennis. Gill has ended the game in style. Full and around middle, Shubman dances out of his crease and sends it flying over long on! The helmet comes off and then the hug with Dre Russ. KOLKATA WIN BY 6 WICKETS!
19.51 IST: Shakib Al Hasan to Shubman Gill, SIX.
* Last over. 12 to defend.
19.50 IST: Bhuvneshwar Kumar to Andre Russell, SIX.
19.48 IST: Bhuvneshwar Kumar to Andre Russell, FOUR! 14 from the first 3 balls! Russell has come out with a mission.
19.46 IST: Bhuvneshwar Kumar to Andre Russell, SIX! That is a monster! 10 off 2 balls and Kolkata are surely the favourites now. 24 needed from 10 deliveries.
19.45 IST: Siddarth Kaul to Andre Russell, FOUR! Russell is unleashed. Width on offer outside off, he shows no mercy and spanks it through covers for a cracking boundary. This boy is very, very strong. Can he finish this over with one more big blow?
19.43 IST: Siddarth Kaul to Andre Russell, SIX! Two in a row! Game on. All the good work done by Kumar in the last over is going down the drain. A low full toss by Kaul, Andre lines himself and launches it over the bowler's head. 12 from the over already.
19.41 IST: Siddarth Kaul to Andre Russell, SIX! A cracking beginning to the over for Kolkata! Dre Russ getting into the act. Gets one right in the slot. It's full and on middle and leg, Russell clears his front leg and clobbers it 91m long into the deep mid-wicket stand.
* Siddarth Kaul is into the attack.
19.40 IST: Bhuvneshwar Kumar to Andre Russell, Wow, another terrific yorker, right in the blockhole, not much a batsman can do about it. Andre only manages to dig it out. It goes one bounce over the bowler and they steal a run. 6 from the over at this stage is gold for Hyderabad. 53 needed off 18 balls.
19.38 IST: Bhuvneshwar Kumar to Andre Russell, Gets away with a bad delivery. Short and wide outside off with third man up inside the circle. Russell attacks it with all his might but mistimes his shot towards covers. Only a run.

19.34 IST: Rashid Khan to Andre Russell, FOUR. Fine, fine shot! Goes with the spin and lofts it over covers. Ends the over well but it's been a great spell from Rashid, 4-0-26-1!
* Shubman Gill is in next.
19.32 IST: Rashid Khan to Nitish Rana, OUT! The break has hampered Rana's momentum certainly. He has been adjudged lbw! KKR 118/4 in 15.3 Overs
* Welcome back after the break. In fact, we have not resumed. The light towers have still not come back to normal and the PLAYERS ARE WALKING OFF. All the lights have been turned off and are being switched back on. 6 MINUTES - indicates umpire Chaudhury. We are going into overtime.
* Oops... what has happened? One of the light towers has stopped functioning. The umpires have sensibly signalled for the strategic break. Kolkata are probably finding themselves in troubled waters here. 64 needed from 28 balls but with Russell, Gill and Narine to come, they will back themselves. Hyderabad still have 2 overs of Bhuvneshwar after this and one over of Siddarth Kaul. They will back themselves too.
* Strategic Time-Out
19.17 IST: Rashid Khan to Nitish Rana, FOUR! Nicely done! A full ball, outside leg, Rana gets down and reverse sweeps it over short third man! KKR 118/3 in 15.1 Overs
19.14 IST: Sandeep Sharma to Nitish Rana, SIX! That looked like a miscue but it has gone all the way! A high full toss outside off, Rana looks to go over mid off, miscues it but still manages to clear the fence! KKR 113/3 in 14.4 Overs

19.00 IST: Sandeep Sharma to Dinesh Karthik, OUT Caught! Then skipper goes too! Full and outside off, Karthik looks to check his drive through the off side but the ball stops on the surface and he is caught in his crease. he cannot stop himself and the ball lobs off the face of the bat, straight to his counterpart Bhuvneshwar Kumar at short extra cover. Two wickets in quick succession for Hyderabad. KKR 95/3 in 12.4 Overs
18.56 IST: Sandeep Sharma to Nitish Rana, FOUR! BANG! Full and down the leg side, Rana gets down and sweeps it behind square leg for a boundary!
18.53 IST: Siddarth Kaul to Robin Uthappa, OUT The off stump goes cartwheeling! Normally 87 is an unlucky number considered by the Aussies. Is it for Kolkata as well? A fuller length delivery on off, Uthappa come down the track and was looking for a smash down the ground but Kaul outsmarting him clips his off stump out of the ground. And isn't he pumped up.! KKR 87/2 in 11.4 Overs
18.48 IST: Shakib Al Hasan to Nitish Rana, SIX! AUDACIOUS! Full and outside off, Rana gets down and slog sweeps this massively over mid-wicket! KKR 85/1 in 10.5 Overs

18.35 IST: Rashid Khan to Nitish Rana, FOUR. A tossed up delivery on middle and off, Rana sweeps it wildly but gets an outside edge above slips for four. Thats is some tough luck for Rashid a dropped catch, followed by an edgy boundary.
18.33 IST: Rashid Khan to Robin Uthappa, IN THE AIR AND DOWN! That is a shocker. The crowd likes it. Rashid gets Uthappa in the flight first ball. Never advisable to go after a bowler straightaway in his first over. Robin does that mistake and almost pays for it. Full and around middle, Uthappa looks to go big but mistimes it. He gets a massive top edge which goes nowhere except to Yusuf Pathan at long off. It is a simple catch but he takes it too easy. Does not even get his hands to the ball and it goes past his hands, hits his chest and drops down. A single taken.
* Rashid Khan comes into attack
18.30 IST: Siddarth Kaul to Nitish Rana, A full length delivery on off, Rana drives it towards the long off region for a single. SRH 50/1 in 6.5 Overs
18.23 IST: Shakib Al Hasan to Robin Uthappa, FOUR! Excellent bowling but what a terrific piece of batting. Good cricket all around. Uthappa comes down the track and Shakib fires it in the blockhole outside off. But the keeper-batsman adjusts well, converts it into a low full toss and drives it between cover and point!
18.19 IST: Siddarth Kaul to Robin Uthappa, FOUR. A full length delivery on off, Uthappa makes some room and slaps it down the ground straight pass the bowler. Warner at mid on gives a dive but the ball passes him and touches the boundary ropes.
* Siddharth Kaul comes into the attack now
18.15 IST: Sandeep Sharma to Nitish Rana, FOUR. From the outside edge. Unfortunate for the bowler. Fuller length delivery outside off, shaping away. Nitish Rana goes for a drive but gets an outside edge and the ball touches the third man region ropes. KKR 30/1 in 4 Overs
18.14 IST: Sandeep Sharma to Nitish Rana, SIX. Hit the ropes on the full! Full on middle and leg, Rana swings it cleanly through the line, clears mid on and the ball lands directly flush on the ropes. The umpire checks it upstairs to see whether it is a four or a six and after some time, the right decision is made.
18.12 IST: Sandeep Sharma to Nitish Rana, FOUR! Pure timing! Full and around middle, Rana works it wide of mid on and finds the fence!
18.09 IST: Bhuvneshwar Kumar to Robin Uthappa, FOUR! Had he missed, Uthappa would have been dismissed. But he doesn't and it is a boundary.
18.07 IST: Bhuvneshwar Kumar to Nitish Rana, MISFIELD! FOUR! Almost a replica of what Sunil Narine suffered when Kolkata were fielding. Now, it is Rashid. Short and outside off, Rana punches it straight to Rashid who gets down to stop but the ball hits his fingertips and rolls behind. He is certainly not happy and is feeling the pain but is continuing. KKR 11/1 in 2.1 overs
18.06 IST: OUT! Shakib removes Lynn for 7.There goes Lynn. Tossed up, around middle, Chris jumps out of the crease and launches this over long on! 175 more needed from 112 balls. KKR 7/1 in 2 overs
18.03 IST: SIX! Smashed and the first one of Lynn's bat! Shaikib introduced with a huge with one. KKR 7/0 in 1.2 overs
18.02 IST: That is a beauty to start. Bhuvi gets his rhythm straightaway, gets the ball to curve in a long way, Lynn is beaten all ends up as the ball hones in between bat and pad, cutting him into half, narrowly missing the stumps.
18.00 IST: The action is all set to resume. The Kolkata openers are out in the middle. Not Lynn and Narine. Not Lynn and Uthappa. But Chris Lynn and Nitish Rana. Bhuvneshwar Kumar will start off proceedings with the new ball to Lynn...
17.59 IST:
17.57 IST: 182 to win then. Do Hyderabad have enough? Or will Kolkata chase it down? The answer is on the other side...
17.44 IST: Lockie Ferguson to Vijay Shankar, SAFE AS A HOUSE. Short and outside off, Shankar plays it through point and immediately calls for the second. The throw comes in from Gill at sweeper cover and it is at a nice height to Dinesh Karthik who knocks the bails off. The appeal is referred upstairs but replays confirm that the second run is counted. HYDERABAD FINISH ON 181/3!
* RUN OUT? Good throw from Shubman Gill but no signs of confidence from Dinesh Karthik. Referred upstairs...

17.38 IST: Prasidh Krishna to Vijay Shankar, NOT OUT! Missing leg! That is a good review from Shankar but this is what happens due to this rule. The batsman is not out but the single that he took, will not be counted as the ball becomes dead after the batsman is adjudged out. A full toss, down the leg side, Vijay misses his flick and is hit on the pads. The bowler appeals and the umpire, after taking a long time, raises his finger. Vijay immediately takes the review and the Hawk Eye takes a long time to come up too. Eventually, NOT OUT is conveyed. SRH 166/4 in 18.5 Overs
* Adjudged LBW! But review taken. Looks to be going down leg.
17.34 IST: Prasidh Krishna to Vijay Shankar, SIX! 'That is creamed right off the middle', quips Brett Lee on air. A length ball outside off, slower in pace, Shankar spots it, gives himself room to the leg side and sends it sailing over long on!
17.33 IST: Prasidh Krishna to Vijay Shankar, Follows the batsman down the leg side, Shankar misses his flick and is hit on the pads. The ball rolls to the off side and the batsmen take a single. Leg bye signalled.
17.31 IST: Andre Russell to Manish Pandey, FOUR.
* Manish Pandey walks in at number 5, replacing Pathan.
17.28 IST: Andre Russell to Yusuf Pathan, OUT! KNOCKED HIM OVER! Might be a blessing in disguise for Hyderabad. Yusuf Pathan is not a rapid starter and with the balls left in the innings, he needed to get going almost immediately, which he struggles to do. This is a slower delivery, beautifully disguised but Pathan does not pick it at all. He is months early into his flick and the ball arrives much late, goes past the bat and ignites the Zinc bails.
17.21 IST: Lockie Ferguson to Yusuf Pathan, Poor keeping from Karthik. A short ball outside off, slower in pace, Yusuf looks to pull but is beaten by the lack of pace. He misses but Karthik fumbles. A bye conceded.
* KKR owner and Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan is at Eden Gardens to support his team.
* Strategic break - Wicket just at the end there and the dangerous Warner is back in the hut. Kolkata will be hoping that this can put some brakes on the scoring and restrict Hyderabad under 190. Hyderabad meanwhile would be hoping that their big hitters can make full use of the platform set by Warner and take the score past the 200-run mark.
17.18 IST: Andre Russell to David Warner, OUT Caught! Hyderabad have lost their second wicket. Warner falls this time. A fuller length delivery on off, David Warner just slams it hard to the cover region. Uthappa at covers a beautiful diving catch. SRH 144/2 in 16 Overs
17.16 IST: Andre Russell to David Warner, SIX.
* Andre Russell is back into the attack.
17.11 IST: Prasidh Krishna to David Warner, Play and a miss. Change of pace from Prasidh. Warner looks to pull it away but gets beaten by the slowness of the pitch. Dot ball this. A very crucial one.

* Vijay Shankar walks in at number 3, replacing Bairstow.
17.03 IST: Piyush Chawla to Jonny Bairstow, OUT! Bowled! Finally some respite for the bowlers. Googly pitching just outside off, Bairstow looks to flat bat it through covers but misses it completely. * Kuldeep Yadav is back into the attack.
16.45 IST: Andre Russell to David Warner, SIX! Brilliant by Warner. A short pitched delivery on off, Warner gets the perfect room. He plays an upper cut to the third man region. And the ball goes above the boundary ropes at the third man region.
* Looks like Narine has some damage to his finger. HE IS GOING OFF THE FIELD. Doesn't look in too much discomfort but then, Sunil is the best at emoting, is he...
16.41 IST: Andre Russell to David Warner, FOUR! Warner is in the mood today. Length delivery outside off. Russel offers width to Warner and you never do that when he is in fine form. He frees his arm and whacks it through covers for a boundary. Narine gets his hand to it inside the circle but cannot do anything.
* Andre Russel is introduced into the attack now.
16.39 IST: Sunil Narine to Jonny Bairstow, Hammered but just for a single. Tossed up on middle and off, Bairstow heaves it towards deep mid-wicket. The ball bounces on its way to the fielder there.
16.37 IST: Sunil Narine to Jonny Bairstow, FOUR! Deft touch from Bairstow. Top spinner around off, Bairstow gets on one knee and paddles it over the keeper's head for a boundary.
* The first strategic break of the match. Hyderabad are going along merrily but the bowling has not been great either. There is nothing in the pitch and the bowlers need to try and bowl consistent lines to at least stem the run flow.
16.33 IST: Kuldeep Yadav to David Warner, FOUR! Perfect execution this from Warner. Googly on leg, Warner gets on one knee and brings out the reverse sweep. He hits it well to send it to the fence at third man. SRH 59/0 in 6.2 Overs

16.25 IST: Lockie Ferguson to Jonny Bairstow, Excellent fielding from Prasidh Krishna. Full-length delivery on middle and leg, Bairstwow looks to flick it across the line. 16.13 IST: Prasidh Krishna to David Warner, FOUR! CRASHED! A back of a length delivery pitching on middle and leg. Warner was just waiting for it, gets on his back foot and pulls it to the mid-wicket region. Another boundary for David.
* Chris Lynn is miked up and is having a chat with the on-air commentators. Says that the team did suffer a setback with the injuries to some young lads but is happy with the preparation camp overall. On the pitch, Chris says that it looks a belter but wants his bowlers to strike early. On the crowd support, Lynn says that it is nice to have no matches at neutral venues this season. He admires the crowd here at Eden. On his own injury to his right shoulder, Chris says that he is not 100 percent fit, preferring to throw with his left shoulder but is doing okay. On the mindset heading into the tournament, Lynn reckons that Kolkata is a champion team and it will take only a couple of weeks for the team to adjust itself.

* Shakib Al Hasan rings the traditional bell at the Eden Gardens. The Kolkata players get into a huddle. Now, they are ready to get going. Out walk the Hyderabad openers with their weapons of mass destruction. Why do we say so? Because, their names are... David Warner and Jonny Bairstow.
