HIGHLIGHTS, IND vs WI, 2nd T20I FROM LUCKNOW:

India (195/2) beat West Indies (124/9) by 71 runs in Lucknow to take an unassailable 2-0 lead in three-match series. Bhuvneshwar 2/12, Bumrah 2/20

22.28 IST: A bumper to end, perfect pacers response after getting hit for two boundaries. Oshane goes for the pull but fails to make contact. He is down on the ground. Karthik throws the stumps down at his end but Oshane is in. A dot to end and INDIA WIN BY 71 RUNS!

22.24 IST: FOUR! Good timing that! Certainly a shot a top order would be proud off. It is on the pads, it is flicked through square leg and the ball races away.

22.21 IST: OUT! Bumrah removes Pierre for 1. The firecrackers are about to set off once the final delivery or the final wicket falls. Either ways, whichever one comes first. Bumrah once again bowls the slower ball on middle, Pierre is foxed by it. He tries to drive but ends up chipping it back to the bowler who takes a good catch in his followthrough.

22.17 IST: OUT! Bhuvneshwar gets his second and Paul departs for 20.  No. 8 down and who has taken the catch? Rohit Sharma. He is everywhere tonight. This slapped towards mid off and Rohit takes it by moving to his left. Second for Kumar and the end for Windies is nigh. WI 114/8 in 18.4 overs

22.12 IST: SIX! Three off the over! Ends the over with a band. 19 from the over, still below the runs needed per over though. This is tossed up on middle, Brathwaite lofts it over long on for a biggie. WI 112/7 in 18 overs

22.11 IST: SIX! Smashed! Paul has hammered that and it has gone all the way. WI 105/7 in 17.3 overs

22.11 IST: SIX! HUGE! Dances down the track and the tonks it over the long on fence.

22.08 IST: NOT OUT! Paul survives. There was no glove and the ball is seen missing the stumps. He goes for the reverse sweep but it goes off something towards Pant who takes it. The players first started to appeal for the LBW but then appeal for the catch. The umpire raises his finger for the catch. Keemo reviews straightaway. Replays show, the on-field call has to be overturned.

22.06 IST: An appeal for both a catch and an LBW. The umpire raises his finger for one of the two, the catch I feel. Paul though has reviewed it.

22.01 IST: Slower ball outside off, Brathwaite tries to go over covers but the ball takes the outside edge and goes down to third man for a run.

21.55 IST: OUT! Allen is short and he bags a first-ball duck. Allen taps it towards cover-point and he wants a run. There was never one in it and he is sent back. Krunal Pandya collects the ball and throws the stumps down at the striker's end. Allen tries to get in with a dive but he seems to be short. The umpire takes it upstairs and replays show that the batter is well short. WI 81/7 in 13.5 overs

21.53 IST: OUT! Bhuvneshwar gets his first and Ramdin walks back. Soft dismissal! A ball on the pads, Ramdin tries to flick, forgets to keep it down and it goes into the hands of Rohit Sharma at square leg. He takes another catch and Kumar gets his first. Another faliure for Ramdin. IND 81/6 in 13.3 overs

21.48 IST: 4 Byes! A bouncer by Krunal! Braithwaite ducks, DK can't get to that and that's four byes. WI 79/5 in 13 overs

21.39 IST: OUT! Bumrah removes Pollard for 6. It's all going downhill for the Windies. But what was Pollard doing there? Was that intentional? Well, you decide yourself. A short ball around off, Pollard tries to drag his pull through the leg side but the bounce gets big on him. It takes the top edge and lobs in the air beside the pitch. Bumrah runs towards the ball and Pollard starts walking with his head. He though is walking in the direction of the bowler. Realizes that just when Bumrah was going to take then catch, the two avoid a collision and Bumrah clings onto the catch. Pollard then continues his walk back but Bumrah is not happy. The fans are though as once again a bowling change does the trick for them. Windies are 5 down. WI 68/5 in 10.4 overs

21.35 IST: The Master Blaster is all praise for Rohit

21.32 IST: FOUR! Pollard hits that shot effortlessly! Straight down the ground and Dhawan could not stop that. An example of Pollard's power there. This is tossed up on off, Pollard has given it a real thump, down the ground. WI 67/4 in 9.4 overs

21.27 IST: OUT! TIMBER! Yadav has his second in his first over. The googly, Pooran has no idea on which way the ball is turning. He tries to read it off the pitch and hence goes back to play. It spins back in sharply. Nicholas fails to adjust and the ball sneaks between bat and pad and hits the stumps. His return into the team is not a good one. WI 52/4 in 8 overs

* FIVE WIDES! Once again strays down leg. Ramdin misses his flick, Karthik cannot get to the ball and it runs away to the fine leg fence.

21.26 IST: FOUR! Nicely played! Brings out the reverse sweep, plays it well, fine down the leg side. A boundary is fetched.

21.24 IST: OUT! EDGED AND TAKEN!  Kuldeep removes Bravo for 23. What a sharp catch. Any guesses who it is? Let me tell you, it is the centurion of today, Rohit Sharma. You can't keep him out of the action today. Kuldeep strikes in his first over. It is short and a little outside off, Bravo goes for the full-blooded cut but ball is not far enough to play that shot. It takes the outside edge and flies towards the first slip fielder. Rohit there takes a very sharp catch to his right. Windies have lost their third and their hopes of chasing this down has been dented big time. West Indies 48/3 in 7.3 overs

21.23 IST: FOUR! Smashed! Full and quick outside off, Bravo has hit that with brute force down the ground and it is a boundary to end the over.

21.21 IST: That never took off! How do you score runs of that? Short and that did not bounce at all. Bravo tries to adjust but gets it off the inner half, back towards the bowler.

* Krunal Pandya comes into bowl

21.17 IST: FOUR! Edged on a yorker by Khaleel. Lucky runs for Windies. Poor ball and it has been put away. Full toss on the pads, it is flicked fine down the leg side. A boundary. WI 39/2 in 6 overs

21.14 IST: OUT! Khaleel removes Dangerman Hetmyer for 15. Hetmyer holes out and Khaleel gets his second. He has the last laugh against Hetmyer. It is the slower ball on middle, Hetmyer tries to clear the long on fence. It is not perfectly timed and with long on in position, that was always a risk. Dhawan there runs in and takes an easy catch. WI 33/2 in 5.2 overs

21.13 IST: FOUR! Short and outside off, Hetmyer plays it late and guides it through short third man for a boundary. WI 33/1 in 5.1 overs

21.11 IST: Back of a length around off, the batter tries to push it through covers but he gets an inside edge towards short fine leg, The batsmen go for a run. The fielder has a shy at the striker's end but misses.

21.09 IST: FOUR! Short and down the leg side, Bravo nudges it fine on the leg side and it races away to the fence. Boundaries flowing here now. WI 27/1 in 4.2 overs

* Bumrah is brought on!

21.06 IST: FOUR! Second in the over and they need to keep going. Back of a length on middle, Hetmyer gets into position early and then pulls it through mid-wicket boundary results. WI 23/1 in 4 overs

21.05 IST: FOUR! Smashed by Hetmyer! No hesitation as he hammers that straight down the ground. Length ball on middle, it is smashed past the bowler and it races into the fence. WI 19/1 in 3.4 overs

21.01 IST: ALMOST! Well disguised slower ball from Bhuvi. On that fourth stump line, Hetmyer looks to slog it but cannot make contact. The ball just misses the off pole.

20.58 IST: FOUR! Just have to find the gap in this lightning fast outfield. Short and on middle, Bravo pulls it through mid-wicket and it races away. A good end to the over for the Windies but the over belongs to India. 5 runs and a wicket from it.

*  Darren Bravo is the new man in.

20.54 IST: OUT! Timber! West Indies lose their first wicket and Hope departs for 6. What a stunner by Khaleel! That one stayed a touch low and it cleans Hope up. It was on the shorter side on middle, Hope looks to pull but the ball does not bounce as he thought it would. It sneaks under the bat and clips the bails. They though ask him to wait as they want to check the front foot. Replays show Khaleel is fine and India get their first. So that beautiful maximum is all Hope could manage and Windies lose one early in this big chase. Exactly what they would have not wanted. WI 7/1 in 1.3 overs

20.53 IST: SIX! What a way to get off the mark! What a shot to get off the mark. Full and on middle, Hope with a very straight bat lofts it over the bowler's head and it carries all the way.

20.48 IST: We are back for the chase! New opening pair for Shai Hope as Shimron Hetmyer walks with him. Bhuvneshwar Kumar will bowl the first over for India.

* Another Rohit Sharma show is what we witnessed here. And when he gets going India are more-or-less going to post a massive score on the board. They have done so, a daunting 195 is what the Windies need to chase down.

20.37 IST: West Indies need 196 runs to win.

20.36 IST: No 200, only a single to finish. This is eased down to long off for a run. A massive last over. 20 from it and INDIA FINISH WITH 195/2!

20.36 IST: 100 for Rohit Sharma. He gets there with back-to-back boundaries. Pumps his fist and then raises his bat to acknowledge the applause by the crowd. What an innings from the opener. It is his fourth in this format and now he sits at the top of the pile with the most no. of T20I tons. He plays the paddle, connects well and hits it over short fine leg for a boundary.

20.33 IST: FOUR! EDGY! But Rohit will take it. Moves onto 96. A full toss outside off, he swings, the ball takes the outside edge and goes to the third man fence. IND 180/2 in 19.2 overs

20.26 IST: SIX! This time hammered by KL Rahul! That has gone the distance and the Windies are feeling the heat.  200 is very much possible now! Stands tall and hits it over the bowler' head. It is right off the middle so it carries all the way. IND 167/2 in 17.5 overs

20.25 IST: FOUR! Rohit's in his 90's now. 10 from the last two balls! A full toss outside off, Rohit drives it square on the off side and a boundary results. IND 158/2 in 17.3 overs

20.24 IST: SIX! Smashed once again, courtesy, Rohit Sharma. A lot of bottom hand in that shot. Rohit dances down the track, he was not to the pitch of the ball but still goes ahead with the shot and grabs maximum. IND 154/2 in 17.2 overs

20.24 IST: In the air... but safe! A low full toss and Rahul tries to paddle. The ball hits his top edge and then onto the helmet. It lobs towards short fine leg. The fielder there does nto get to it. A run taken.

20.21 IST: FOUR! Another one by Rahul. Back-to-back boundaries! Pierced the gap to perfection. Short and outside off, he created the room for himself and then cuts it through backward point for a boundary. 10 from the first four balls. IND 148/2 in 16.4 overs

20.20 IST: FOUR! Hammered by Rahul. He needs to make an impact in this match. IND 142/2 in 16.3 overs

20.16 IST: OUT! Spoke too soon! India have lost their second wicket and Pant departs for 5. Misjudged the delivery and makes a complete mess of it. His promotion up the order does not work. Not sure if this was needed, especially having got a boundary of the first ball. He tries to find the fence again with a slog sweep, does not get the desired elevation and it goes falt towards Hetmyer at deep mid-wicket who takes it. So two quick wickets for Windies and that is the only way they can contain the Indian run rate. IND 133/2 in 15.2 overs

20.14 IST: FOUR! Pant opens his account with a boundary and a lot is expected off the youngster after a terrific IPL performance. IND 133/1 in 15.1 overs

20.13 IST: Direct hit needed but missed! To add to that the batsmen run an overthrow. The slower ball, surprises Rohit. He guides it towards point. Allen there has a shy at the non-striker's end as Pant is way out of his crease. The ball misses the stumps, beats the fielder backing up but Pollard from long on does well and stops it with a dive.

20.09 IST: FOUR! Poor ball to begin his new spell. Short and outside off, Rohit has ample of time to guide it over point. Just uses the pace and a boundary results. Pressure on the bowler as a boundary is hit early in the over. IND 127/1 in 14.1 overs

20.07 IST: OUT! India lose their first wicket and it's Dhawan who walks back. Fuller ball on off, Dhawan gets low and sweeps it towards backward square. Pooran covers ground to his left, dives and then takes it with one hand. The ball sticks and Windies get their breakthrough. A good opening stand for India comes to an end. IND 123/1 in 14 overs

20.04 IST: SIX! Another one by the HITMAN!  Another one! Dealing in boundaries. This one is fuller on off, Rohit slogs it over mid-wicket for back-to-back sixes. IND 119/0 in 13.2 overs

20.04 IST: SIX! Smashed and Rohit is hammering away. Six on every stadium. Flatter ball on off, Rohit sweeps this over mid-wicket for a monster hit. IND 113/0 in 13.1 overs

20.00 IST: FOUR! Poor ball with third man up! It is short and outside off, easy for Rohit he cuts it through point and the ball races away. 100 up for India and they have all ten wickets in hand. IND 100/0 in 12.2 overs

20.00 IST: FIFTY! Rohit Sharma scores his 16th T20I half-century off 38 balls. Another excellent innings by the Indian opener and he is not done yet. If he stays till the end, India will surely score a big total. It is his 16th in this format. He works this through mid-wicket. Once again the power on the shot and the placement is perfect. Two taken. IND 98/0 in 12.1 overs

19.56 IST: FOUR! Rohit's on 48 now. Gorgeous shot that! Rohit dances down the track and flicks it through mid-wicket. It is in the gap and beats the dive of the fielder at long on. Ideal start to this over. IND 93/0 in 11.1 overs

19.47 IST: In the air... but on the bounce! Slower ball outside off, Dhawan hits it uppishly towards long off but well short of him. A run taken.

19.43 IST: FOUR! Pure power! Carlos digs it in short outside off, Rohit rocks back and pulls it through mid-wicket. The ball races to the boundary. The umpire signals a boundary. Nobody moved. IND 77/0 in 8.5 overs

19.42 IST: SIX! That is Massive! Rohit in the mood. Length ball down leg. Rohit waits for it and then pulls it over fine leg for half a dozen. Nicely done. IND 73/0 in 8.3 overs

19.40 IST: DROPPED AND FOUR! Keemo makes a meal of it. Short ball on middle, Dhawan pulls it high over square leg. It has more height than distance. Keemo in the deep settles it but cannot hold onto it. And to his dismay, the ball touches the ropes.

19.39 IST: Has Allen taken the catch cleanly? Allen is not sure and the umpire want it to be checked. Rohit Sharma is the man in question. Soft signal is NOT OUT.

19.38 IST: On the pads, it is flicked towards deep square leg. They run the first one hard, put pressure on the fielder. He fumbles and concedes an extra run.

19.35 IST: Nicely played! Dhawan dances down the track and punches it through covers and takes two.

19.30 IST: FIFTY up for India! Back of a length on off, it is pushed through covers for a run. 1000 T20I runs for Dhawan. He is the 6th Indian to do so.. IND 50/0 in 6 overs

19.27 IST: SIX! Smashed by the skipper! Second maximum of the innings and both have come from the blade of Rohit Sharma. Tossed up around middle, he knows the ball is not going to turn so he lifts it over the long on fence. IND 44/0 in 5.3 overs

19.24 IST: FOUR! Another one by Shikhar as he sends that to long off. This time he finds the gap! It is caressed through the off side and the ball races away to the cover boundary. IND 36/0 in 4.5 overs

19.23 IST: FOUR! Smashed by Gabbar! IND 32/0 in 4.2 overs

19.23 IST: NO BALL! Thomas has overstepped here! Second Free Hit in the innings. This is guided down to third man for a single. Once again Dhawan is on strike. Can he make use of this one?

19.22 IST: SIX! All the way! Top shot! He just had to time that and he did exactly that. Full and on the stumps, Rohit makes room and then lofts it over the bowler's head. It carries all the way. India getting a move on now. Rohit becomes India's top scorer in T20I cricket.

19.18 IST: FOUR! Up and over! Welcome into the attack. This is tossed up on off, too easy for Rohit Sharma. He lofts it over mid off for the first boundary tonight.

19.15 IST: First signs of intent against Thomas but once again it is only a single. Rohit makes room and tries to cut but gets a thick outside edge towards third man. A run taken.

19.14 IST: Not easy to get the big guy away! He bowls it on the shorter side and closer to the off pole. Dhawan goes for the cut but ends up chopping it to point.

19.12 IST: Another quick single! When boundaries are hard to come by, rotation of strike is very important. Dhawan drops this on the off side and takes a run.

19.10 IST: NO BALL! Just not acceptable in this version of the game. Keemo has overstepped and by some margin. It is bowled on a back of a length on off, Rohit pushes it towards mid off for a single. Free Hit coming up.

19.08 IST: Fuller again and on middle, Rohit tries to go over mid-wicket. The ball though goes off the inner half towards deep square leg for a run. Rohit is now off the mark.

19.06 IST: Maiden over by Thomas, kept Rohit at the end. Slightly shorter in length around off, Rohit pushes it to mid off.

19.00 IST: We are all set for the action to begin. Out come the Windies players and they are followed by the Indian openers, Rohit Sharma and Shikhar Dhawan. Oshane Thomas will start the proceedings for the visitors.

18.55 IST: Indian skipper, Rohit Sharma, says they were looking to bowl first. Adds further it is the first game here, so he is not sure how the pitch will play. Reckons there is good grass covering so it should hold up well. Mentions the dew will be there in both the innings. Informs there is one change as Kumar comes in for Yadav. Ends by saying the decision was not easy but Kumar has been their no. 1 bowler for a long time and his experience will play a part.

17.55 IST: Lucknow will be hosting its first international match at the newly-built Ekana stadium.

Brief Preview: Having failed to live up to their reputation in the shortest format, West Indies suffered a five-wicket loss to India in the first T20I of the three-match series in Kolkata on Sunday. Watching Rohit Sharma's team victory in the low-scoring T20 match at Eden Gardens, one could expect to see an identical contest when the two sides clash again in the second contest at the Ekana International Cricket stadium, Lucknow, on Tuesday.

India have won the Test series 2-0 and ODIs 3-1 in an utterly lopsided fashion. On Sunday, the current World T20I champions were restricted to a paltry 109/8 by Rohit Sharma and Company.

Windies bowlers did well to reduce India to 54/4 at the halfway stage before seasoned stumper Dinesh Karthik (31 not out; 34 b, 3x4, 1x6) and debutant Krunal Pandya (21 not out; 9b, 3x4) got the home side over the line.

India's last win against the West Indies before Sunday came was way back on March 23, 2014 in the World T20 in Bangladesh. (Read Full Match Preview)
