Mohali: In-form Kolkata Knight Riders have managed to restrict the struggling Kings XI Punjab to a low total of 138/8 in the thirteenth match of the Indian Premier league at the PCA Stadium in Mohali.

Gautam Gambhir-led Kolkata Knight Riders won the toss and invited Kings XI Punjab to bat first.

No batsman, other than Shaun Marsh (56 off 41 balls), seemed to withstand the stringent bowling and fielding attack of Kolkata Knight Riders.

Murali Vijay and Manan Vohra opened the batting for Punjab and were looking good before Morkel dismissed Vohra in the fourth over.

With wickets falling on the other end, Shaun Marsh single-handedly guided the team’s score past 130 and returned unbeaten at 56 runs.

Other than Marsh, Vijay and tail ender Kyle Abbott, no other batsman could reach the 2-digit figure.

For KKR, Morne Morkel and Sunil Narine bagged two wickets each, giving away 27 and 22 runs respectively in their 4-over slot. Umesh Yadav, Piyush Chawla and YuYusuf Pathan shared one wicket each.
