Team India Test pacer Ishant Sharma will lead Delhi in the upcoming Vijay Hazare tournament. The Delhi and District Cricket Association had announced the 29-year old as the skipper and Pradeep Sangwan was appointed as the vice-captain in the 15-man squad.
The Delhi 15-man squad will also feature IPL franchise Delhi Daredevils' new skipper Gautam Gambhir, former Delhi skipper Rishab Pant, Unmukt Chand and Kshitiz Sharma.
Kshitiz who has played 11 T20 matches so far, is yet to play in List-A or first-class cricket. The cricketer's selection has not been free of controversy and was surprisingly bought by IPL franchise Chennai Super Kings for a base price of 20 Lakh. Kshitiz was bracketed in the uncapped all-rounder category during the IPL 2018 auctions.
The Delhi squad will also feature U-23's highest scorer Hiten Dalal in the limited overs format.
The Ishant Sharma led Delhi team will play their first match against Uttar Pradesh in Bilaspur on February 5.
