IPL 2019: Virat Kohli in no mood to represent another franchise, can't wait to play at his den

Virat Kohli is all set for the upcoming edition of the Indian Premier League as he is gearing up at the nets of Royal Challengers Bangalore.

On his return to Chinnaswamy after international duty, Kohli can't wait to hit field for his team RCB's first match against defending champions Chennai Super Kings on March 23, which is also the season opener.

Kohli posted photos and videos of his practice session on Instagram where he was smashing bowlers out of the park and was also seen taking part in fielding drills.

"Great to be back at the Chinnaswamy for another season with @RCBTweets. ?? Can’t wait to be on the field! #PlayBold #IPL2019," Kohli wrote on his Instagram post.

Kohli has been associated with the RCB camp from the start of his career but has never been able to lift the coveted cup in 11 years. The Bangalore franchise has played three IPL finals where they were decimated by the opposition. First, it was the Deccan Chargers in 2009 when the IPL was played in South Africa, and the second instance was in 2011 when Mahendra Singh Dhoni's Chennai Super Kings defeated them in the summit clash. In 2016, Kohli had the golden opportunity to lift the cup as he was at his best form in that season with four centuries in the league stage matches but David Warner's Sunrisers Hyderabad came out on top in the final to lift their maiden trophy.

Despite RCB's inconsistent show in IPL, Kohli has assured that he is very much in love with the franchise and is in no mood to change the team.

"To me, it (playing for RCB) has been a most special experience. I don't see myself leaving or playing for any other franchise," Kohli said while speaking to reporters during the launch of RCB's new app in Bengaluru.

"The (RCB's) failure lies where decisions aren't made properly. If I sit here and say our luck was bad, that won't be right. You make your own luck, and if you make poor decisions and the other team makes good ones, you will lose," the RCB skipper added.

The Indian skipper has also figured the mistakes RCB has committed in the previous editions.

"When we played big matches too, our decision-making wasn't right. When your decision-making is spot on and balanced, those teams win the IPL. The teams that are more relaxed, don't take the pressure too much, and take good decisions in pressure moments - they should get the credit for winning," Kohli said.
