IPL 2019 Schedule announced for first 2 weeks: The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) announced the schedule of the first two weeks of the Indian Premier League on Tuesday with Chennai Super Kings and Royal Challengers Bangalore all set to kick off the proceedings.
The tournament is all set to begin on March 23 as announced earlier by the board.
The cricket board went ahead announced the fixtures for the first 17 matches keeping in mind the general elections in the month of April. After further assesment and working with the authorities, a decision will be taken on the remaining fixtures.
"IPL releases the schedule of the first two weeks (17 matches) of the IPL 2019 Season. These are still subject to the announcement of the Lok Sabha 2019 election dates. Once these have been released BCCI will address any issues with the first two weeks and will also prepare a schedule for the remainder of the season working with the local authorities around the polling dates," a BCCI press releases stated.

All the teams are scheduled to play two home and away fixtures in the 14-day period with all teams playing at least four games.
"A total of 17 matches will be played during this 2 weeks period across the 8 home venues of the respective franchises. All teams will play minimum of 4 matches with DC and RCB playing 5 matches. Every team will play minimum of 2 home and 2 away matches with Delhi Capital playing 3 home matches, while RCB will play 3 away matches," the press release further added.
The first game of the tournament will be played in Chennai -- the home of last year's champion CSK.
