The 12th edition of the Indian Premier League started off with a not-so-thrilling clash between Chennai Super Kings and Royal Challengers Bangalore, but what followed the next day were encounters that raised the rooftops. David Warner back on song, Russell's muscle helping Kolkata Knight Riders pulling off a stunning comeback against Sunrisers Hyderabad, Pant going berserk and Delhi thrashing Mumbai at Wankhede, the IPL has always been known to be unpredictable.
Moving to Match 4 of the 2019 IPL, inaugural winners Rajasthan Royals take on the Kings XI Punjab. While both teams will be looking to secure a win, both teams also have a pretty balanced side and there have always been nail-biting thrillers at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur.
With Steve Smith back in the side, Rajasthan Royals will look to pull out their big guns early in the tournament but they do come up against a storm that can wreak havoc. Chris Gayle, the 'Universe Boss', has been in fine form of late and can be one of the decisive factors for Punjab.
Both teams have been inconsistent in the previous season and the biggest draws of last season - Ben Stokes and Jaydev Unadkat, did not impress. Hopefully this season they can justify their price tags.
With Mike Hesson's appointment as the head coach for Punjab, the Kings XI are everything but boring. They have always entertained and fought valiantly and this season could be quite different for the Reds.
What to Expect:
The favours are with no team right now as both will look to unleash a few new faces and bring their best men forward to battle. It will surely 'NOT' be a tedious match and it can all come down to the batsmen to do the job for each side. Steve Smith vs Chris Gayle. Rajasthan vs Punjab. The battle of the north is a clash to watch out for.
