Electing to bat, Mumbai Indians scored 149 for eight against Chennai Super Kings in the IPL final on Sunday. Kieron Pollard top-scored for the Mumbai side with his unbeaten 41-run knock while opener Quinton de Kock scored 29.

Deepak Chahar accounted for three batsmen while Shardul Thakur and Imran Tahir took two wickets each for CSK.

However, the first innings didn't end without controversy, as the drama unfolded in the final over of the game. MS Dhoni gave Dwayne Bravo the onus of bowling the final over of the innings.

However, pressure mounted on Kieron Pollard after he failed to score a single run off the first two deliveries. In the third delivery, the ball drifted far away from Pollard, and while it should've been called a wide, the umpire failed to spot it. It was counted as a legal delivery, and Pollard was justifiably disgruntled with the decision.

The West Indian batsman, in protest, took the strike on the wide-line, and walked away from the pitch as Bravo began his delivery stride for the fourth ball of the over.

The umpires walked towards Pollard and the two parties had a heated discussion on the pitch, as CSK's players watched the drama.
