After two long years, inaugural Indian Premier League champions Rajasthan Royals make a return to the cash-rich league and have built quite an impressive squad after sparing no expense in the 2018 IPL auctions. A major concern comes their way as one of their pacers, Jofra Archer will be out of play for a while due to a side strain. The West Indies pacer who plays for the Quetta Gladiators in the Pakistan Super League has been ruled out from the rest of the season.

Archer came into the spotlight when he was bought for a whopping 7.2 crore in the IPL 2018 auctions and has been quite impressive with the ball as his figures in the opening games of the PSL, which has been highly admirable.

Australia's Ben Laughlin has been called in place of Archer for the Gladiators. The PSL franchise had posted a video message by Archer to the fans on their Twitter handle.

Speed sensation Jofra Archer waves goodbye. Sad he could only play 2 out of 4 matches due to a side strain. See you soon JOF!!! #Zordaar11

The West Indies pacer made the front news when he was signed by English county team Sussex in 2016. The 22-year old finished the 2017 Count Championship season as their leading wicket-taker in division two.

After the County stint, Archer was also a part of Australia's Big Bash League (BBL) where he played for Hobart Hurricanes. On his debut, Archer claimed a double wicket maiden in a fixture against Melbourne Renegades.

With Archer being ruled out from the rest of the PSL season and the 11th edition of the IPL just around the corner, Archer's presence in the Rajasthan squad remains doubtful.
