IPL 2018, RCB vs RR, HIGHLIGHTS

So a convincing victory in the end for RAJASTHAN ROYALS as they win their second game in a row in  Indian Premier League 2018. Chasing the target has been the norm in this tournament so far but not for Rajasthan. They have won both their games batting first and it were their batsmen in this one who set it up for them beautifully. (CRICKET STREAMING - RCB vs RR)

Chasing a massive total, ROYAL CHALLENGERS BANGALORE got off the worst start possible as they lost Brendon McCullum early. But Virat Kohli and Quinton de Kock then joined forces. The former looked to be in sublime touch and the two added a quickfire 77-run stand before the wicket-keeper batsman departed. Kohli then stitched another association with AB de Villiers and at one stage they were on track for the chase with the skipper bringing up his half ton.

The introduction of Shreyas Gopal, however changed the context of the game. He first got Kohli and then also took the wicket of AB de Villiers. He finished with figures off 4-0-22-2 and ensured Rajasthan had their noses way ahead in the game. Mandeep Singh and Washington Sundar did try to put up a fight but their effort was never going to be enough.(SCORECARD)

19.30 IST: FOUR! Back-to-back boundaries but it still won't be enough. Full and outside off, Singh tries to guide it down towards third man but it goes off the bottom and it goes very fine in that region for a boundary.  RCB 192/6 in 19.3 overs

19.29 IST: FOUR! Slower ball on the body off the batsman. Singh walks across and pulls it over short fine leg for a boundary.  RCB 188/6 in 19.2 overs

19.26 IST: OUT! Stokes has the last laugh! But a good innings by Sundar comes to an end. He did fight but the task was always going to be an uphill one. A full toss outside off, Sundar goes for the paddle but only manages to hit it onto his stumps. Chris Waokes it the next man in.

Royal Challengers Bangalore 182/6 in 18.5 overs vs Rajasthan Royals (217/4)

19.23 IST: SIX! 10 from two! What a shot from Sundar! Full and wide outside off, Sundar lofts it over covers and the ball goes all the way. 38 needed now in 10.  RCB 180/5 in 18.2 overs

19.22 IST: FOUR! Perfect start to the over! Full and wide outside off, Sundar opens the face of the bat and slashes it past cover-point for a boundary. RCB 174/5 in 18.1 overs

19.21 IST:

19.20 IST: SIX! They won't go down without a fight! Laughlin with a slower short ball around off, Sundar stands tall and muscles it over long on for a biggie. The fielder tries taking the catch over his head but fails to catch it. Maybe, he was standing a bit up.  RCB 167/5 in 17.4 overs

19.17 IST: Good finish but 17 from the over from Unadkat. It is still below the required rate. A yorker outside off. Mandeep jams it out to the bowler.  RCB 157/5 in 17 overs

19.16 IST: Mandeep Singh will not give up without a fight here. A full ball outside off, Singh squeezes it out over point and for a boundary. Back-to-back boundaries.  RCB 155/5 in 16.4 overs

19.15 IST: FOUR! They need a lot more of these! Short and outside off, Mandeep Singh cuts it through point and the ball races away. 67 needed in 21.  RCB 151/5 in 16.3 overs

19.13 IST: SIX! Unadkat who is brought into the attack is welcomed with a maximum. On a length around off, it is the slower one. Sundar picks it early and lofts it over the long on fence for a biggie.  RCB 146/5 in 16.1 overs

19.08 IST: Slower ball again, this one sticks into the surface. Sundar goes for the pull but gets a bottom edge onto his boot and then onto the off side for a run. RCB 134/5 in 15 overs

Ben Stokes comes back into the attack.

19.05 IST: FOUR! The runs have to keep coming! Full and wide outside off, Mandeep square drives it through the off side for a boundary.  RCB 131/5 in 14.2 overs

Strategic break signaled! 92 more needed for Bangalore in 29 balls. Washington Sundar makes his way out to the middle.

19.02 IST: OUT! EDGED AND TAKEN! Ben strikes off his first ball in his second spell. He is very clever with his variations and this time Negi fails to read it. Ben bowls the slow off cutter and it turns away after pitching. Negi tries to work it across the line but the ball takes the outside edge and goes into the mitts off the keeper who takes a decent catch diving forward. So not a good return into the team for Negi and Bangalore have half their side back in the hut. Royal Challengers Bangalore 126/5 in 14.1 overs vs Rajasthan Royals (217/4)

Ben Laughlin is back on.

18.58 IST: SIX! A 94-meter hit! Gowtham flights this one and drops it right in the slot for the batsman, the length is on the fuller side and Mandeep dispatches it over long on for a maximum. Good start to the over. RCB 122/4 in 13.1 overs

18.55 IST: 'Smashing Samson' - the batting superstar for Rajasthan Royals -  India Tv - IPL 2018: Sanju Samson hits highest individual score of 11th edition

18.54 IST: Pawan Negi walks out to the middle.

18.53 IST: OUT! GAME SET AND MATCH? Who will be the most relieved after this wicket. I need not answer that. De Villiers does not make most off the missed stumping and the missed run out chance. Gopal bowls a half-tracker outside leg stump. De Villiers should have deposited it into the stands but does not get the timing. It goes towards Unadkat at deep backward square leg who runs to his right and takes another excellent catch inches above the ground. They all run towards him and Gopal gets his second. What a spell by him. 104 more needed. Royal Challengers Bangalore 114/4 in 12.3 overs vs Rajasthan Royals (217/4)

18.52 IST: Beautiful wives and girlfriends of Indian cricketers who never fail to impress; See pics

18.51 IST: FOUR! Cuts and cuts hard! Also he does well to find the gap. A bit on the shorter side outside off, AB rocks back and flashes his bat through the line. It flies off the outer half of the bat and races right through the gap between short third man and backward point. RCB 114/3 in 12 overs

Mandeep Singh is the next man in.

18.45 IST: OUT! In the air... caught! Gopal who should have de Villiers in the last over, gets Kohli in this one. Huge moment in the game. Pin-drop silence in the stadium. Gopal bowls it short and on middle, Kohli rocks back and pulls it flat towards deep mid-wicket. D'Arcy Short there runs to his right and takes a brilliant catch just ahead of the boundary. The Rajasthan players are pumped up and why won't they be. They have got the big fish. End of an enterprising innings by Kohli. 117 more needed. Royal Challengers Bangalore 101/3 in 10.2 overs vs Rajasthan Royals (217/4)

18.44 IST: SIX! This will surely be hurting Buttler. Full and outside off. De Villiers goes inside out and hits it over covers for a biggie.  RCB 100/2 in 11 overs

18.40 IST: SIX! THUMPED! Short and on middle, Kohli rocks back and pulls it over the mid-wicket fence for a maximum. Spoils what was an excellent over until now.  RCB 91/2 in 9 overs

18.39 IST: STUMPING CHANCE MISSED! Buttler, what have you done? If there is one guy you would not want to give a life too that guy is AB de Villiers. Gopal bowls the googly on off, de Villiers comes down the track to go big but misses. Buttler behind the stumps fails to collect it and it hits his gloves and goes towards Rahane who has a shy but misses. They take an overthrow and the crowd here is going crazy. Bye signalled.

18.38 IST:

18.37 IST: FIFTY! Virat Kohli hits 31st IPL half-century. What a knock. He has led from the front in this chase. Exception batting. His job is not done however. As he eases this lofted ball towards long on for a run. Royal Challengers Bangalore 82/2 in 8.1 vs Rajasthan Royals (217/4)

AB de Villiers is the next man in.

18.35 IST: OUT! Short bags a wicket by bowling short! Well, that's not the ideal length to bowl but it has fetched him a wicket. It's more the fault of the batsman than anything else. de Kock goes deep inside the crease and tries to rocket his attempted pull shot over square leg. But there ain't much meat behind it and Unadkat in the deep takes the catch safely. End of a brisk 77-run stand as de Kock walks back to the pavilion. Royal Challengers Bangalore 81/2 in 8 overs vs Rajasthan Royals (217/4)

18.33 IST: SIX! Off one hand but it has still gone deep into the stand. Wow! Moon reach flashes the giant screen! You beauty, Kohli.  RCB 78/1 in 7.2 overs

18.30 IST: FOUR! Short ball and it is asking to be hit. On middle, Kohli rocks back and pulls it through mid-wicket and finds the fence. They need a boundary in almost every over and they are getting it.  RCB 69/1 in 6.3 overs

18.28 IST:

18.27 IST:

Time for strategic break!

18.25 IST: FOUR! Full toss outside off, Kohli just has to get bat to it. He does exactly that and squeezes it past point for a boundary. 15 runs from Ben Stokes first over.  Brilliant start for Bangalore. They need another 154 runs in 84 balls. RCB 64/1 in 6 overs

18.20 IST: FOUR! Bowl any line, any length. Kohli is in the mood today. He will murder you. Short and on middle, Kohli rocks back and pulls it through mid-wicket for another boundary. 50 up for Bangalore. RCB 53/1 in 5.1 overs

Ben Stokes is into the attack.

18.19 IST: FOUR!  De Kock is on fire! Swept and swept brilliantly! Gowtham floats it up on middle, de Kock goes down on one knee and sweeps it past the fielder at square leg for a boundary. Back-to-back. Pressure on the bowler.

18.17 IST: Good over by Unadkat in the context off the game. just a single to end it. He lands it on a length again outside off. Kohli taps it towards covers for a quick run. RCB 41/1 in 4 overs

18.15 IST: FOUR! Jaydev Unadkat is been taken for a ride as Quintin de Kock sends the delivery down mid-on and sails away for a boundary. RCB 36/1 in 3.3 overs

18.14 IST: FOUR! Ends the over with a boundary! De Kock makes room and drives this one through extra covers. Another expensive over and Bangalore are right on track here.

18.10 IST: FOUR! Classic Kohli! A cut shot played by the skipper on Gowtham's slow spin and on the backfoot he manages to send the ball down to long on and down for a boundary. RCB 25/1 in 2.3 overs

18.07 IST: FOUR! This time through the leg side. Kohli is on a roll here. He again gives the bowler the charge and flicks him over the square leg region for a boundary. Third in the over.

18.05 IST: OUT! WHAT A CATCH! Ben Stokes, take a bow! He has plucked that out off thin air. Gowtham bowls this one short on middle, McCullum rocks back and pulls it with all his might but he hits it flat towards deep mid-wicket. The ball is traveling like a tracer bullet towards him. Ben Stokes there, times his leap to perfection and takes it with two hands above his head. Brilliant! An early wicket for Rajasthan and McCullum once again walks back cheaply. This time though he can consider himself a touch unlucky.

18.04 IST: FOUR! Ideal start for Bangalore! Gowtham bowls it flatter outside off, McCullum rocks back and cuts it through covers and the ball races away.

17.50 IST: Not a lot to write about the Bangalore bowlers. Chahal was the only one who managed to get some control. He finished with figures off 4-0-22-2. The rest were all taken to the cleaners. Umesh Yadav who has been so impressive until now, goes for 60 in his allotted four. Now they will have to put their performance with the bowl behind their back and hope for their batters to do the job. They do have a powerful batting line-up and one would not rule them out of the game. We did saw a total close to 200 being chased yesterday. Can it happen today? Join us for the chase to find out.

17.46 IST:

17.45 IST: SIX! Yadav has been taken to the cleaners! It's fullish and outside off, Samson goes inside-out and thwacks it over extra cover for a maximum. That went like a rocket in the stand. RR 217/4 in 20 overs vs RCB

17.43 IST: SIX! Makes full utilization of the bonus delivery. Yadav is on the fuller side with his length, Sanju aligns himself and launches it over the bowler's head. Brendon McCullum attempts to catch it with a jump near the fence but to no avail. RR 210/4 in 19.4 overs

17.42 IST: FOUR! Another one travels past the rope. Where is your yorker, Umesh? Bowls it short around off and Rahul packs a punch by pulling it over square leg for a boundary. 200 up for Rajasthan, already their best score against Bangalore.

17.41 IST: SIX! This time Yadav pays for not keeping it in the blockhole. That's right in the slot for Tripathi and he muscles it over long on for a biggie. 198/4 in 19.2 overs

17.40 IST:

17.39 IST: FOUR! Catch is the call but it is out of the reach of the fielder. Fuller outside off, Samson slashes hard at it. It goes uppishly towards sweeper cover. The fielder there runs to his left, dives and tries to catch it but can't reach it. 17 and a wicket from this over and 200 is now very much possible. RR 190/4 in 19 overs

17.37 IST: SIX! Boundaries, what is that? Samson only deals in maximums. A slower ball on middle, Sanju picks it early and sends it sailing over the long on fence. RR 182/4 in 18.4 overs

17.35 IST: OUT! Woakes gets his countryman! That ends a quickfire 73-run stand. A low full toss on middle by Woakes. These are always difficult to put away. Buttler tries to go over mid-off but does not get the elevation as he holes out to Virat Kohli in that position. Rajasthan Royals 175/4 in 18.2 overs vs Royal Challengers Bangalore

17.33 IST: SIX! This is the SHOT OF THE MATCH! WOW! Two maximums to finish the over. Another full ball on middle, Samson moves away and just chips it over the bowler's head. Such is the timing that it goes all the way. 16 from this over, can they get to 200? RR 173/3 in 18 overs

17.32 IST: SIX! Spoils the over! You just can't miss your mark! This one is fuller, on off. Enough for Samson to get under it as he lofts it over long off for a biggie. RR 167/3 in 17.5 overs

Kulwant Khejroliya is back on.

17.28 IST: SIX! Once again it is not the yorker and it has been sent into the stands. Why Woakes, why? He has bowled four yorkers in this over and they did not go for many. The two balls he has bowled on a length have been pulled over the mid-wicket fence. 15 from this over, there is no stopping these two. RR 157/3 in 17 overs

17.27 IST:  FIFTY for Samson, his 8th in IPL. His good run in this tournament continues as he jams this yorker out towards point for a run. Rajasthan Royals 151/3 in 16.5 overs vs Royal Challengers Bangalore

17.25 IST: SIX! I don't think that was off the middle but it has gone all the way! Woakes bowls a length ball, not a good idea at this stage. Samson pulls it and he just clears the man at deep mid-wicket for a biggie.

17.19 IST: SIX! How do you make full use of the Free Hit? Samson just shows the right way. He gets another gift, a full toss on middle, it still has to be put away as Samson flicks it over the mid-wicket fence. 8 runs from 1 ball in this over. RR 137/3 in 15.1 overs

17.16 IST:

Strategic break signalled!

17.15 IST: Slower ball on the pads, Samson works it towards square leg for a quick run. So a good comeback by the bowler after going for 8 from the first ball. Just 5 from the last 5. RR 129/3 in 15 overs

17.11 IST: FOUR! Streaky but Buttler will take it with both hands. Negi floats this one up on off, it turns away a touch. Buttler tries to drive but the ball takes the outside edge and goes through the vacant slip region for a boundary. 13 from this over also. RR 125/3 in 14 overs

17.09 IST: SIX! Bad ball  from Negi and dispatched! Short and on middle, Samson rocks back and deposits it over the mid-wicket fence for a biggie. RR 120/3 in 13.3 overs

17.08 IST: FOUR BYES! Buttler will say he tricked the keeper there. He goes for the paddle but completely misses the ball as it turned away. Looking at the shot, de Kock runs towards the leg side but the ball beats the bat, goes past the slip fielder for a boundary. 11 from the over.

17.06 IST: FOUR! What a shot to get off the mark, what a way to get off the mark. First ball, Buttler goes down on one knee and goes for the reverse sweep. He is helped by Chahal as he bowls a full toss. Jos hits it off the middle and through backward point for a boundary. So even though a wicket has fallen, runs must continue to come. RR 106/3 in 12.3 overs

Jos Buttler makes his way out to the middle.

17.04 IST: OUT! CHOPPED ON! The bowling change has done the trick. What a wicket to take to become the highest wicket-taker for Bangalore. The dangerous Ben Stokes is walking back. Yuzvendra tosses this one up outside off, it might be the wrong 'un. Stokes tries to clear the leg side fence with a slog sweep but gets a bottom edge which disturbs the furniture behind. So a timely wicket for Bangalore as this partnership was starting to flourish. Rajasthan Royals 102/3 in 12.2 overs vs Royal Challengers Bangalore

Yuzvendra Chahal is back on.

17.01 IST: Once again brilliant fielding! We saw Hyderabad were brilliant in the field yesterday and today Bangalore have been really good. Stokes gets a full toss on leg stump, he flicks it fine on the leg side. Woakes runs to his left, slides and he seems to have stopped it. They go upstairs to check and he has done just fine. Two runs.

16.59 IST: SIX! This is even better! Stokes on the charge here. Short and on the body, too easy for Ben as he pulls it over the square leg fence and the ball clears the rope. So runs starting to come thick and fast here for Rajasthan. RR 96/2 in 11.3 overs

16.58 IST: FOUR! This time he gets the timing right! Excellent placement! On a length outside off, Stokes guides it through backward point and with the third man up that is a boundary all day. RR 90/2 in 11.2 overs

Kulwant Khejroliya is back on.

16.57 IST: Punched off the backfoot by the batsman. They pick up a single. So Rajasthan looking to get a move on now, 18 from the last two. RR 86/2 in 11 overs

16.54 IST: SIX! STAND AND DELIVER! What a shot! Sundar bowls it on middle, it is flat and at a good pace for the batsman. Samason stands tall, trusts the pitch and lofts it over long on for a biggie. RR 82/2 in 10.1 overs

16.52 IST: FOUR! Good placement and a good finish to the over! short again on middle, Stokes walks across and whips it through mid-wicket for a boundary. RR 76/2 in 10 overs

Umesh Yadav is back on. He is sporting a headband today, not a bun.

16.47 IST: Time for some strategies! As the strategic break has been signalled.

16.46 IST: Once again makes room and Sundar cramps him for room by following him. Stokes flicks it through mid-wicket and ends the over with a run. So just 5 from this one and 16 from the 3 bowled after the Powerplay. RR 68/2 in  9 overs

16.41 IST: SIX! ALL THE WAY! Slightly short on the body, Samson stands tall and pulls it over the square leg fence for a biggie. This should release the pressure a little. RR 61/2 in 7.4 overs

Kulwant Khejroliya is into the attack.

Ben Stokes is the next man in.

16.36 IST: OUT! Chahal removes Short for 11. Rajasthan Royals 53/2 in 6.5 overs vs Royal Challengers Bangalore

16.33 IST: Fuller on off, Samson off the front foot strokes it off the middle through covers for a run. That ends the Powerplay, 9 runs from this one but a wicket also. Rajasthan are 52/1 after 6 overs.

16.32 IST:

Sanju Samson is the next man in.

16.30 IST: OUT! In the air...caught! Woakes draws first blood! A much-needed wicket for Bangalore, especially after the start Rajasthan have got. Woakes bowls it slower and on a fuller length on middle. Rahane who has played really attacking till now once again tries to go big. He, however, does not time it that well as it goes off the toe end towards mid on. Umesh Yadav there takes a couple of steps back and pouches it easily. The crowd here erupts but a good innings and good opening stand ends. Rajasthan Royals 49/1 in 5.4 overs vs Royal Challengers Bangalore

16.28 IST: FOUR! EASY PICKINGS! Down the leg side, a hit me ball. Rahane says thank you so much and lofts it over short fine leg for another boundary. RR 49/0 in 5.3 overs

16.25 IST: FOUR! Short does not want to be left out as he joins the party! He gets a full ball, a very full one so the spin is out of contention. D'Arcy hits it straight back past the bowler to end the over with a boundary. So 35 from the last three overs. RR 43/0 in 5 overs

16.23 IST: FOUR! Once again plays the sweep shot to perfection! Chahal tosses this one up on middle, Rahane goes down on one knee and sweeps it uppishly but in the gap in the mid-wicket region.

Yuzvendra Chahal is into the attack.

16.21 IST: FOUR! Dealing in boundaries is Rahane! Rajasthan are off to a very good shot. End of another good over for them. Yadav once again makes the mistake of bowling it to full and on the pads. Rahane flicks it through mid-wicket and there is no stopping that ball. RR 33/0 in 4 overs

16.20 IST: FOUR! Rahane on the charge! He makes room again, Yadav follows him but bowls it a touch full. Too easy for Ajinkya as he whips it over mid-wicket for another boundary. RR 28/0 in 3.4 overs

Umesh Yadav is into the attack. He has bowled with fire in this tournament till now. He picked three in an over in the last game. Bangalore will hope for more of the same.

16.17 IST:

16.16 IST: A single to finish! 14 runs from the over, a good one for Rajasthan. Sundar drags his length back this time and also cramps the batsman for room. Rahane flicks it through mid-wicket to retain strike. He has 17 off the 23. RR 22/0 in 3 overs

16.15 IST: SIX! Stand and deliver! This approach is working quite nicely for Rahane. Sundar tosses this up on middle, Rahane makes room and lofts it over mid on and the ball sails over the fence for a biggie. 10 from the last two balls. RR 21/0 in 2.5 overs

16.14 IST: FOUR! Swept and swept fine! Sundar bowls it on middle again. Rahane is a good player of spin and he is showing that. He goes down on one knee and sweeps it through square leg for a boundary. RR 15/0 in 2.4 overs

16.11 IST: Rahane is struggling a bit here! He is holding is knee as he is down on the ground. The physio is out to have a look. The skipper is getting some stretching done.

16.09 IST: That was nicely bowled! Slower ball and Woakes got it to shape away a touch. Rahane tries to drive but gets an outside edge towards short third man. The fielder has a shy but misses. A needless shy but no overthrows as it was well backed up. RR 9/0 in 2 overs

16.06 IST: FOUR! First off the game! Top shot this by Rahane! The key here was he picked the length early. Woakes bowls this one a touch short on middle, Rahane transfers his weight on the back foot and pulls it over mid-wicket and the ball races away. Rahane is looking to score right from the outset. Good by the Rajasthan skipper. RR 6/0 in 1.2 overs

Chris Woakes will bowl from the other end.

16.04 IST: Short eases this one to mid-on. Rahane wants a run but this time Short is not running. He would not want to be run out in this game, he has been dismissed in that manner in the last two games. The RR openers have got to be watchful about their calling. RR 1/0 in 1 over

16.00 IST: Innovation of the very first ball, intent from Ajinkya Rahane very first up. Very interesting by the opener. He goes down on one knee to this flatter delivery on off. Tries to play the reverse sweep but mistimes it to point. RR 0/0 in 0.1 overs vs RCB

15.57 IST: It is HOT AND SUNNY here in Bangalore today. The players and the umpires make their way out to the middle. Ajinkya Rahane and D'Arcy Short will open the innings for Rajasthan. Bangalore start with spin as Washington Sundar has the new ball in his hand. Here we go...

Brief Preview:
