Highlights: IPL 2018, RCB vs DD, Match 19

Hello and welcome to our live ipl cricket coverage of the match no.19 of Indian Premier League 2018 between Royal Challengers Bangalore and Delhi Daredevils at the M.Chinnaswamy Stadium, Bengaluru. It has been raining in Bengaluru since the past couple of days, so the teams didn't have any practice sessions either. It's not raining at the moment, but there is forecast of rain through the evening. Let's try to stay positive and hope it doesn't show up to ruin things. Focusing a bit on the teams now. Bangalore host Delhi at the Chinnaswamy for what is going to be a vital contest for both teams involved. A win is crucial for both Virat Kohli and Gautam Gambhir. The confidence is a bit shot for both, as they are coming off defeats, one which both could have avoided. Virat Kohli is in prime form, but not much of the same can be said for his teammates. Delhi, well, are blowing hot and cold as well. There seems to be a lot of reliance on Jason Roy, as the others seem unable to find their groove. Maybe a change of fortunes in store tonight.(CRICKET STREAMING - RCB vs DD) (SCORECARD)

HIGHLIGHTS: ROYAL CHALLENGERS BANGALORE vs DELHI DAREDEVILS FROM BENGALURU

23.27 FOUR! What a shot to finish things off! Boult delivers it full and outside off, de Villiers strides forward and drills his drive through extra cover. It screams through and bisects the two fielders in the deep to reach the fence. BANGALORE WIN BY 6 WICKETS (WITH 12 BALLS TO SPARE)! Royal Challengers Bangalore (176/4) beat Delhi Daredevils (174/5) by 6 wickets at M Chinnaswamy Stadium. De Villiers 90*

23.25 IST: FOUR! Boult switches to around the wicket and digs in a short ball on off. It's angled in and hence de Villiers leans back and lifts it over short third man for a boundary.  RCB 172/4 in 17.5 overs

23.22 IST: FOUR! Mandeep is playing his shots. Attacks a length ball outside off and powers it down the ground. Roy from mid-off gives the chase and tries to pull it back with a forward dive. Fails to do so and in the process has hurt himself. RCB 162/4 in 16.5 overs

23.18 IST: Chris Morris is cleaning the dirt from his spikes. A slight halt in play. Meanwhile, this is interesting. Bangalore need 18 for a win and de Villiers require 20 for a century. Possible?

23.16 IST: SIX! That came off the top edge and went all the way! Morris angles in a good length delivery on middle, Mandeep swivels with the pull but flies off the top edge and travels over the keeper for a maximum. Morris has a wry smile on his face. Cannot believe what happened! RCB 155/4 in 16.1 overs

23.12 IST: Strategic break. 27 needed off 25 balls and Bangalore are in cruise control in spite of losing the wicket of Anderson. Meanwhile, Mandeep Singh has joined de Villiers in the middle.

23.11 IST: OUT! Boult removes Corey Anderson for 15. Right through Corey and the stumps are broken. Boult keeps it very full and in the line of the stumps. It's released at 144.8 kph, Anderson tries to swing it over the leg side but misses to find his furniture disturbed. Royal Challengers Bangalore 148/4 in 15.5 overs vs Delhi Daredevils (174/5) at M Chinnaswamy Stadium.

23.10 IST:

23.09 IST: Trent Boult to AB de Villiers, 1 run. Comedy of errors! That should have been a run-out but Gambhir has thrown it at the wrong end. A length ball outside off, de Villiers taps it down to point and initially turns down the run as Corey comes running down the track. The South African then takes off while the Kiwi also starts to return. Both are almost at the non-striker's end but Gambhir has a shy at the bowler's end. No match awareness. Gauti is down on his haunches in frustration. Kohli is having a good laugh. A single added to the total.

23.05 IST: FOUR! Morris has lost his radar! Bowls length and down the leg side, de Villiers is not missing out on this gift. Swings his bat and smashes it behind square leg for a boundary. Bangalore are cruising, the victory is within their sight, Kohli cannot hide his glee. All going rosy for the home team.

23.03 IST: SIX! Goes straight, goes big and it's handsome! Too full and outside off, AB shows no mercy to his countryman as he latches onto it and launches it over Morris' head. Putting on a show, AB!

22.59 IST: SIX! Mind blowing stuff from AB de Villiers! The crowd has gone bonkers. Once again a full ball has been delivered in his half, doesn't matter which way it's turning and he dispatches it over mid-wicket for a biggie.  RCB 124/3 in 13.4 overs

22.56 IST:

22,55 IST: SIX! This is insane batting! You cannot do much as a bowler though. He is going full throttle, AB. Sits down on one knee, shows his 360 range and muscles his slog over long leg for a biggie. 18 from the over, Delhi are feeling the heat now, 60 needed off 42 balls.  RCB 115/3 in 13 overs

22.53 IST: FIFTY! Fifty up for AB de Villiers in no time, off just 24 balls! Patel tries to stay away from the hitting zone of AB and bowls it full and wide outside off. de Villiers shuffles across the stumps, probably to whack it on the leg side but then changes his mind and goes through covers. Rockets his drive and finds the fence. Royal Challengers Bangalore 107/3 in 12.2 overs vs Delhi Daredevils (174/5)

22.51 IST: SIX! That's colossal! You cannot bowl length to this batsman. It was a variation delivery, on the slower side but AB picked it very early. Opens his stance and smokes it over mid-wicket for a maximum. That has once again gone way deep into the stand. RCB 103/3 in 12.1 overs

Corey Anderson is in next.

22.45 IST: OUT! Catch of the season, surely! Trent Boult has plucked a beauty! You can watch this again and again on loop. It's a massive breakthrough as well. Body blow to Bangalore as their skipper falls. Harshal Patel gets lucky with this wicket. A rank full toss on the pads, Kohli with his wonderful wrists whips it aerially over square leg where Boult is stationed. He just leaps, stretches his right hand out and it sticks. Goes down, keeps hold of the ball and does well not to touch the rope. Immediately stands up, turns and claims the catch. Kohli has shock written all over his face. The umpires get together and then go upstairs. The replays roll in and it finds that Boult has taken a ripper. All clean and it breaks the 63-run partnership. Bangalore will feel the heat now. Royal Challengers Bangalore 92/3 in 11 overs vs Delhi Daredevils (174/5)

22.42 IST: FOUR! You just cannot afford to err against this batsman. Patel probably goes for the yorker, the idea was right but not the execution. Turns out to be a juicy full toss on the pads and AB needs no second invitation. Just picks it up and smacks it to the deep mid-wicket fence.  RCB 87/2 in 10.2 overs

22.41 IST:

22.40 IST: SIX! That's enormous, into the top tier, in fact it hits the roof. What a batsman! Once again he receives the short ball with all his power and dismisses it over mid-wicket. That just kept sailing. RCB 80/2 in 9.2 overs

Rahul Tewatia is brought on.

22.36 IST: Yorker speared on the leg, it's going down as de Villiers takes a blow low on the pads. It rolls away on the leg side as the batsmen take a leg bye. RCB 72/2 in 9 overs

Debutant Harshal Patel is introduced into the bowling attack.

22.28 IST: FOUR! Kohli continues with the attack! Morris strays this on the pads, the Bangalore skipper works it ever so well through backward square leg and sends it across the boundary line. RCB 61/2 in 7.1 overs

22.27 IST: FOUR! Third one in the same region. This is phenomenal batting from AB de Villiers. Down on one knee, he sweeps this ball through mid-wicket again, beating the dive of the fielder in the deep. 14 off the over. Bangalore are on the charge. RCB 57/2 in 7 overs

22.25 IST: FOUR! Floats it up on off, de Villiers gets low to this one and then sweeps it through mid-wicket for a boundary.  RCB 49/2 in 6.4 overs

22.22 IST: SIX! There are those strong wrists. What a superb shot. Fuller in length and angling in on middle and leg, Kohli flicks this neatly over mid-wicket and clears the leaping fielder in the deep for a biggie. RCB 43/2 in 5.4 overs

Chris Morris brought on to bowl.

22.19 IST: FOUR! Consecutive boundaries for AB! Loopy around off, he lofts this cleanly over covers and sends it across the fence for a boundary. A wicket and 13 runs off this over.  RCB 37/2 in 5 overs

22.18 IST: FOUR! Shot! Short and flat on middle, de Villiers pulls it along the ground through square leg for a boundary. RCB 33/2 in 4.5 overs

AB de Villiers is the next batsman in.

22.16 IST: OUT! Terrible mix-up in the middle and that signals the end for Quinton de Kock. Horrible. Kohli dabs it towards point and calls for the run. De Kock responds, but then there's a hesitation. Both batsmen stop and go, but Kohli gets to the other end. Seeing this, de Kock crosses to the other side and sacrifices his wicket. Delhi rejoice, they have another one in the bag. Royal Challengers Bangalore 29/2 in 4.3 overs vs Delhi Daredevils (174/5)

22.14 IST: SIX! Sumptuous hit! Tossed up on the pads, a freebie and de Kock puts it away. He kneels down and sweeps it over square leg for a maximum. RCB 24/1 in 4 overs

22.11 IST: Shorter in length from Boult on the stumps, punched off the back foot to mid-on. One run to the total, 6 from the over. Royal Challengers Bangalore 9/1 in 2 overs vs Delhi Daredevils (174/5)

Virat Kohli walks in at no. 3!

22.07 IST: OUT! Vohra is gone! Delhi have their first wicket. Superb effort from Jason Roy out in the deep. Tossed up on off, Vohra gets low to sweep and gets a top edge over square leg. It flies in the deep where Roy moves inside to his right. Dives.  Royal Challengers Bangalore 9/1 in 2 overs vs Delhi Daredevils (174/5)

21.59 IST: FOUR! Exquisite! Beautiful timing from Quinton de Kock. Fuller outside off, he just leans into it and punches it sweetly through the gap in the covers for a boundary.  RCB 4/0 in 0.3 overs

21.57 IST: We are back for the run chase. It will surely be an interesting one with the batting line-up Bangalore possess. The wicket is slightly unpredictable but eases out later. So, early wickets will be key for Delhi. Quinton de Kock and Manan Vohra stride out to the middle, Trent Boult has the new ball in his hand. A slip in place for him. Let's rock and roll...

21.47 IST:

21.45 IST:  Delhi Daredevils post 174/5 in 20 overs vs Royal Challengers Bangalore at M Chinnaswamy Stadium. Pant 85, Iyer 52, Chahal 2/22. Corey Anderson to Rahul Tewatia, no run. Dot ball to end the over. But 11 runs have come off it. The visitors will take it. Wide yorker outside off, Tewatia can't make any connection on it. DELHI END OF 174/5!

21.42 IST: OUT! Anderson removes Pant for 85. Pant is dismissed, but what a knock from the left-hander. His team was is dire straits, but he's played an absolute blinder here. It's full in length, slower in pace and Pant looks to clear long on. Has a lot of height on it, no distance as AB de Villiers settles himself underneath it. He's one of the best in the world, not going to drop that. Delhi Daredevils 170/5 in 19.4 overs vs Royal Challengers Bangalore at M Chinnaswamy Stadium.

21.38 IST: Pant! You Beauty! 18 runs from the over! FOUR! 18 off the over! A huge one for Delhi. Pant is doing an amazing job here. Premeditates the short ball, so he moves a long way across and then pulls it over short fine leg for a boundary.

21.36 IST: FOUR! This is very good batting. Skillful and clever from Rishabh Pant. Full and outside off, Pant opens the face and plays the reverse scoop. One bounce and across the third man fence for a boundary.

21.34 IST: SIX! No stopping Pant tonight. Wickets fall around him or not, he's completely unfazed. Just keeps going and going. Another big hit from the southpaw. Full outside off, moving away, Pant thunders this through the line and clears the cover boundary so comfortably. DD 151/4 in 18.1 overs.

21.33 IST: SIX! It's the slower ball and Pant has picked it up early. What a shot too. BANG! Fuller in length around off, Pant stands tall and with all his might, hammers it over long off for a biggie.

21.31 IST: SIX! Another terrific hit. Siraj misses his attempted yorker, it becomes a full toss on the pads. Pant picks it up and drops it over the square leg boundary for half a dozen.

21.27 IST: FIFTY! Rishabh Pant hits his 4th IPL half-century off 34 balls. FOUR! 4th fifty in this competition for Rishabh Pant. Playing so well this evening. He pulls this short ball through backward square leg for a boundary. He needs to stay till the end, he has to for his team. Delhi Daredevils 130/4 in 17 overs vs Royal Challengers Bangalore at M Chinnaswamy Stadium.

21.21 IST: SIX! Lovely thwack down the ground! Full on the stumps, Pant smokes it straight back over the bowler's head for a biggie.

21.19 IST: Rahul Tewatia is the new man in.

21.18 IST: OUT! Chahal removes Maxwell for 4. Maxwell is gone! Chahal gets the wicket, but this is Siraj's to claim. He's anticipated this extremely well. Tossed up outside off, Maxwell brings out the reverse sweep to clear short third man. Siraj there, guesses this right and he already starts to run behind. It's lobbed in his direction and he takes a good diving catch to his right to dismiss the dangerous Australian. Bangalore on top here. Delhi Daredevils 105/4 in 15.3 overs vs Royal Challengers Bangalore at M Chinnaswamy Stadium.

21.08 IST: Glenn Maxwell walks into the action now.

21.07 IST: OUT! Washington Sundar removes Shreyas Iyer for 52. Sundar has the last laugh! Needless shot from Shreyas Iyer, but credit to Washington though, kept his nerve and got the breakthrough. Darts it full and wide outside off, Iyer unnecessarily reaches out to it and chips it straight to Siraj at short third man. Simple catch, which ends a fruitful partnership for Delhi. Delhi Daredevils 98/3 in 13.5 overs vs Royal Challengers Bangalore at M Chinnaswamy Stadium.

21.05 IST: FIFTY! Shreyas Iyer hits his 7th IPL half-century off 29 balls. SIX! Fifty for Shreyas Iyer. His 7th in the Indian T20 League. What a way to bring it up too, with back-to-back biggies. Sundar darts it wide outside off this time, Iyer doesn't care. He goes down and drags it over mid-wicket with a lot of power. Over the fence and that it's the stands again. Delhi Daredevils 96/2 in 13.2 overs vs Royal Challengers Bangalore at M Chinnaswamy Stadium.

21.02 IST: SIX! DD 84/2 in 13 overs.

21.00 IST: FOUR! Takes the aerial route and gets the desired result. Nice execution. Picked his spot well. Sees the ball full, so Iyer clears his front leg and then lofts it cleanly over covers for a boundary.

20.58 IST: Mohammed Siraj brought back on.

20.35 IST: FOUR! Well executed shot! On off, Pant brings out the reverse sweep and connects well. Places it past backward point and sends it across the boundary line.

20.31 IST: FOUR! Off the mark instantly. Another straighter one, short and outside off, Pant picks it up as he goes back to this. Crashes it through the gap in the covers and finds the fence.

20.29 IST: Rishabh Pant walks in next to bat.

20.28 IST: OUT! Chahal removes Roy for 5. BOWLED 'EM! Yuzvendra Chahal bags himself the big fish. Jason Roy is out of here. What a ball. The mounted pressure eventually got to him. Short on middle and leg, it's the straighter one and Roy is done for here. He rocks back to cut it when the shot is never on. It goes past the inner edge and disturbs the furniture behind. Two down for Delhi now. Delhi Daredevils 23/2 in 5.4 overs vs Royal Challengers Bangalore at M Chinnaswamy Stadium.

20.24 IST: FOUR! Super shot! Iyer rises on his toes to this delivery a bit shortish in length and then firmly punches it through the covers for a boundary.
