IPL 2018, RCB vs CSK HIGHLIGHTS

LIVE INDIAN PREMIER LEAGUE (IPL) 2018 MATCH 24, ROYAL CHALLENGERS BANGALORE vs CHENNAI SUPER KINGS: Hello and welcome to our live ipl cricket coverage of the match no. 24 of Indian Premier League 2018 between Royal Challengers Bangalore and Chennai Super Kings at the M.Chinnaswamy Stadium, Bengaluru. The home side are in the bottom half of the table whereas the visitors are at the second spot. The hosts are eager for a win under the leadership of inspirational captain Virat Kohli. They do have momentum on their side and Virat will hope for it to continue. The visitors on the other hand, are coming off the back of two consecutive victories. They would look to make it three here today. Also a win for them will take them to the top of the table. This one promises to be an intriguing clash as both have star-studded lineups. The Mahendra Singh Dhoni-led Chennai side, who staged a comeback in the cash-rich league after two years, have yet again shown why they are considered the IPL's most successful team. The yellow brigade have won four of their five games and most of their batsmen have fired on more than one occasion, guiding CSK home. (LIVE CRICKET STREAMING - RCB vs CSK)

On the other hand, RCB, led by Virat Kohli are placed six in the points-table with just a couple of wins from five games. Despite having stars like AB De Villiers, Mandeep Singh, Quinton de Kock and Brendon McCullum, Bangalore's batting has been inconsistent, except for Kohli. The RCB skipper has accumulated 231 runs from five games, averaging 57.75. If De Villiers, who blasted an unbeaten 90 off 39 balls in RCB's last game against Delhi Daredevils, repeats the show, life would be difficult for Chennai. (LIVE SCORECARD) (IPL Full Coverage)

23.52 IST: Chennai Super Kings (207/5) beat Royal Challengers Bangalore (205/8) by 5 wickets at M Chinnaswamy Stadium. Rayudu 82, Dhoni 70*.

23.48 IST: SIX! CSK 200/5 in 19.2 overs. 10 from the two balls. It is not Dhoni, it is Bravo doing the job. 6 more needed from 4 balls. This is short and outside off once again. Bravo rocks back and hits it over covers, the place where he loves to go for a biggie.

23.47 IST: FOUR! EDGED BUT RUNS! Ideal start! Anywhere will do. 12 needed from 5 balls. Chennai are now favourites I feel. Short and outside off, Bravo goes for the pull but gets a top edge which evades the diving keeper and into the fence. Pressure, pressure on the bowler now. CSK 194/5 in 19.1 overs.

23.43 IST: Mohammed Siraj to MS Dhoni, Wide! Banged in short but it's too short, the umpire raises his arms sideways. MS still has the opportunity to finish this over well. Or will he want to take a single and keep strike for the final over? Knowing him, he could do either.

23.41 IST: SIX! Dhoni keeps CSK in hunt. He didn't even get properly under that but it still travelled the distance. Low full just outside off, Dhoni throws the kitchen sink at it and slices it over backward point for a biggie.

23.37 IST: Dwayne Bravo walks into the middle next. 31 runs in 13 balls. He can't afford to take time to settle in. Has to go for it from the first ball.

23.36 IST: OUT! Rayudu run out for 82. Ambati Rayudu has been run out! can this be the game changer, can this be the moment which turns the tide in Bangalore's favor? The batsmen go for the second. Umesh picks the ball up and scores a direct hit at the striker's end. Rayudu dives in am attempt to get in. The players appeal and the umpire goes upstairs. Replays show that Rayudu is well short. He is given his marching orders and he is dejected. Nevertheless an excellent innings by him comes to an end and also the 101-run stand. Chennai Super Kings 175/5 in 17.5 overs vs Royal Challengers Bangalore (205/8) at M Chinnaswamy Stadium.

23.33 IST: FIFTY! MS Dhoni hits his 19th IPL half-century off 29 balls. SIX! Fifty for MS Dhoni and it has come off just 29 deliveries. His 19th and what a shot to bring it up. 23.21 IST: SIX! Flat and all the way! Short again and outside off, Rayudu hits it over covers and the ball has just cleared the ropes.

23.20 IST: Rayudu DROPPED! How costly will this prove? Umesh Yadav is the cluprit. This went million miles up in the air but this still should be taken. On a length around off, Rayudu tries to go big but mistimes it high up in the air towrads covers. Yadav there settles himself under it but fails to hang on.

23.14 IST: SIX! What a shot! What a footwork! Commendable! He will surely be happy with that shot! He comes down the track and also makes room. He slaps it over the cover boundary for a biggie.

23.11 IST: FIFTY! Ambati Rayudu hits his 16th IPL half-century off 40 balls. SIX! Rayudu gets into the act! He brings his 16th fifty with a biggie. Negi goes short and it is very slow. 22.45 IST: MS Dhoni makes his way out to the middle.

Chennai Super Kings 74/4 in 9 overs vs Royal Challengers Bangalore (205/8) at M Chinnaswamy Stadium.

22.40 IST: SIX! What a shot! Not too much wrong with the delivery but such is the form of Rayudu. This one is tossed up outside off. Rayudu plants his front foot towards the ball and he goes over the cover boundary for a biggie. They have to keep doing this. CSK 72/3 in 8.3 overs.

He accepts a regulation catch. Raina never looked comfortable out there and he is walking back.  CSK 50/2 in 5.1 overs

22.21 IST: FOUR! Bang! CSK reach 50 in five overs. A slow start now sees them in a race against time. Smashed straight down the ground. End of an excellent over. 15 from it. Brief Preview: Under the captaincy of MS Dhoni, Chennai Super Kings (CSK) will aim for the top spot at the IPL Points Table when they take on Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) in the 24th match of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2018 at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium, Bengaluru, on Wednesday. With CSK not playing in the previous two seasons, fans on either side were robbed of IPL's most celebrated rivalry.

Though Mahendra Singh Dhoni-led CSK lead RCB 13-7 in the overall head-to-head record, both teams have won three games each out of the seven played at the high-scoring Chinnaswamy Stadium with one producing a no-result. Dhoni's men have been much better than RCB in their comeback season, winning four out of the five games they have played so far. The Virat Kohli-captained RCB have won two out of their five matches and would be eager to maintain momentum after the win against Delhi Daredevils at home last week. (Read Full Match Preview)
