In the IPL 2018 players auction for spinners, it was not Kuldeep Yadav nor Yuzvendra Chalal who got attention, but it was Afghanistan's 19-year old Rashid Khan who changed the dimension at the biddings. The Team India spinners were both retained by their respective teams in the end after a war of bidding, but the Afghanistan spinner was surely taken into consideration by the rest of the IPL franchises and definitely shrunk the purses of Sunrisers Hyderabad.

South Africa's Imran Tahir will now be alongside Harbhajan Singh in the Chennai Super Kings after the yellow brigade were the lone bidders for the spinner in the auction for a price 1 crore. Karn Sharma will also be alongside the veterans as the youngster was brought for a price of 5 crore.

Delhi Daredevils brought in former Team India player Amit Mishra for a package of 4 crore. The bidding for this spinner was fierce as his experience and knowledge was the most sought after in the set.
