Known for his witty comments on Twitter, former Indian batsman Virender Sehwag welcomed speedster Ishant Sharma to the 10th season of the Indian Premier League in his own imitable style.
Sehwag is believed to have played a crucial role in roping in Ishant Sharma in Kings XI Punjab. Currently India's senior-most pacer in the Test squad (77 matches), Ishant went unsold due to his high base price of Rs 2 crore.
He was picked up by Kings XI yesterday.
True to his style, Sehwag took to his Twitter handle to welcome Ishant and termed him a ‘distorted Burj Khalifa’ and put out one condition when he joined the team.
Sehwag posted a photo of Ishant making a weird facial expression that went viral in no time.
Ishant responded to Sehwag saying, “Thanks paaji !!! And first you have to make the same expression tomorrow in the practice session.”
Sehwag replied, saying that making that face alone will require one practice session.
Over the years, Ishant has played for a number of franchises - Kolkata Knight Riders, Deccan Chargers, Sunrisers Hyderabad and Rising Pune Supergiants.
The 28-year-old has 88 wickets from the 107 Twenty20 matches he has played and has an economy rate of 7.75 with a best bowling figures of 5 for 12.
