In a proud moment, Indian women's cricket team thrashed arch-rivals Pakistan by 17 runs to lift the Women’s Asia Cup T20 title in Bangkok on Sunday.
With this win India successfully defended the title which they won in 2012 in Guangzhou.
Following the win, India go 4-0 up on Pakistan in Asia Cup encounters.
Earlier, India women won the toss and elected to bat first.
In their quota of 20 overs, India managed to put 121 on board for the loss of 5 wickets.
For India, Mithali Raj top scored with 73 not out. During her stay at the crease, she smashed 7 fours and 1 six.
For Pakistan, Anam Amin was the pick of the bowlers for claiming 2/24.
In reply, Pakistan struggled to face the Indian bowling attack and eventually they could only managed to score 104 runs for the loss of 6 wickets in their quota of 20 overs.
Bismah Maroof top scored for Pakistan with 25 runs.
India’s Road to the Final in 2016 Asia Cup T20:
- Thrashed Bangladesh by 64 runs
- They defeated hosts Thailand by nine wickets
- Defeated Pakistan women by five wickets in a tense round-robin encounter
- Defeated Sri Lanka by 52 runs but their high point was defeating Nepal by 99 runs, in which they bowled Nepal out for 21.
