India vs West Indies: Lucknow set for international debut, to host T20I match

India are slated to play 2 Tests, 5 ODIs and 3 T20Is against West Indies in a seven-week-long tour which commences October 4.

India will face West Indies in 2 Tests, 5 ODIs and 3 T20Is

Lucknow is all set to hosts its maiden international cricket match as India will face West Indies in 2 Tests, 5 ODIs and 3 T20I matches. 

The 2nd T20I of the three-match series will be held in the newly built Ekana Cricket Stadium, Lucknow, which is ICC and BCCI approved. It has a seating capacity of 50,000 people. 

This will be Windies' first tour of India since their visit in November 2013 for two Tests, which was also a retirement series for Master Blaster Sachin Tendulkar. The last time when West Indies won a Test series in India, was back in 1983 when they won the six-match series 3-0. 

The Board of Control for Cricket of India (BCCI) announced the fixtures and venues for the seven-week home series against West Indies. (IND vs WI Full Schedule)

"The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) and the West Indies Cricket Board (WICB) announce the schedule for the forthcoming home series against West Indies set to be played from October 4 to November 11, 2018. India will play 2 Tests, 5 ODIs & 3 T20Is during this tenure," BCCI secretary Amitabh Choudhary said in a release.

The opening Test will be held at Rajkot from October 4 to 8, followed by the second Test from October 12 to 16 at Hyderabad.

The five-match ODI series will begin on October 21 at Guwahati, followed by the second ODI on October 24th at Indore and third ODI at Pune on October 27th. The final two one-dayers will be held at Mumbai and Thiruvananthapuram on October 29th and November 1.

The one-dayers will be followed by the three T20 Internationals to be held at Kolkata (November 4), Lucknow (November 6) and Chennai (November 11).
