India vs West Indies, Highlights, 3rd ODI in Pune:
India vs West Indies, 3rd ODI: Marlon Samuels claimed three wickets, while Jason Holder, Obed McCoy and Ashley Nurse chipped in with three wickets each as West Indies defeated India by 43 runs to level the five-match series 1-1 in Pune. Magnificent victory for Windies! They were competitive in the first ODI, came close in the second and now have finally crossed the hurdle in the third attempt. Mind you, they have beaten India in spite of the home team having their first-choice bowling attack and more importantly, Virat Kohli scoring a century. Credit should be given to them. They deserve to be on level terms. India's vulnerable point was touched and exposed today. Chasing a stiff target, they lost Rohit Sharma early. Then, Virat Kohli and Shikhar Dhawan put together a 79-run stand which was followed by a few more partnerships which involved the Indian skipper. Kohli held one end tightly and went on to notch yet another century. However, the rest of the batting unit failed to give him enough support. Eventually, Marlon Samuels managed to pick the prized scalp of Kohli and the writing was on the wall. Still, they managed to drag it for a few overs, although the result was pretty much inevitable. Windies were excellent with their intensity in the field. They felt the pressure initially when Kohli and Dhawan were going strong. But the tourists never lost hope. They managed to chip away wickets at regular intervals which kept them very much in the game. It can be considered as a masterstroke by Jason Holder to give the ball to Marlon Samuels who earned them the wicket of the danger man, Virat Kohli.(SCORECARD)IND vs WI, 3rd ODI HIGHLIGHTS from Pune:

20.04 IST: OUT! Nurse removes Rishabh Pant for 24. GONE! There is a slight deflection. Pant has to go. A delivery sliding down the leg side, it's full in length and Pant shapes up for the paddle sweep. He fails to middle his shot and as soon as Shai Hope collects the ball, he puts in an appeal. The umpire shakes his head and seeing his keeper very sure, Holder goes for the DRS. The replays roll in and Ultra Edge finds a slight spike when the ball goes past Pant's gloves. Rishabh is given the walking order. India have lost their fourth wicket now. 112 needed off 113 balls. India 172/4 in 31.1 overs vs West Indies (283/9) in Pune.

Allen dives full length to his left, gets his hand to it but fails to hang on. Pant takes a single to get off the mark. Really an outstanding effort by the debutant. If you don't consider the dropped catch, he has stopped a certain boundary there.
19.38 IST: Rishabh Pant arrives at number 5. Promotion for him? A wide first slip in place.
19.37 IST: OUT! Obed McCoy removes Rayudu for 22. Rayudu drags it on! A wicket against the run of play. The line is too close to play the run down shot to third man. It's a touch short on middle and off, Rayudu opens the face but is cramped for room. End result, he has dragged it back onto the stumps. A disappointing end to a good looking knock. India 135/3 in 25.4 overs vs West Indies (283/9) in Pune.
19.30 IST: FOUR! Better shot! Bowler under pressure. Flighted and full outside off, Ambati walks forward and lofts it over covers for a fabulous boundary.

It skids on after landing and hits Dhawan on the pads who is down on one knee attempting a sweep shot. They appeal and the finger goes up immediately. Shikhar doesn't even bother referring it. This was that plumb. India 88/2 in 17.2 overs vs West Indies (283/9) in Pune.

17.55 IST: This can be a tricky run chase now. The Indians are still favorites to overhaul the target, especially under lights where the ball is expected to skid onto the bat even more. The Windies bowlers have not had a great time so far but tonight is the day where they need to step up. Will India take an unassailable lead or will the Windies level the series? Join us in a while to find out.
17.45 IST: The Indian bowlers were led by Bumrah. He was exceptional throughout as he finished with a 4-fer. Kuldeep too had a good day at the office. Chahal, Khaleel and Kumar though had a day to forget, especially Kumar, who was taken to the cleaners. Had these three bowled well, India would have been chasing something below 250.
Kuldeep Yadav gives a quick interview to Murali Kartik. He says that the wicket was good but there wasn't much turn like the last game. Adds that he just tried to bowl wicket-to-wicket line. On batsmen not picking him, he replies that he just keeps on mixing his variations. Also states that it's all about deceiving the batsmen in the air. Praises Shai Hope for his batting. Feels that it's difficult to adjust lengths while switching formats and reckons more you play, better you get.
17.40 IST: Holder then along with Hope added a 76-run stand which steadied the ship. The latter continued but just when it was time for him to accelerate, he was dismissed by a beauty from Bumrah, 5 short of a ton. It would have been back-to-back tons for him. Ashley Nurse though came to the rescue and his cameo has given the Windies a total with which they can at least fight.
17.35 IST: 28 runs from the last two overs has seen the Windies finish with a competitive total on the board. Who would have thought they would cross the 280-run mark when they were reeling at 121-5. 17.07 IST: Bhuvneshwar Kumar is back on.

16.57 IST: Kemar Roach is the new man in.
16.56 IST: OUT! Bumrah removes Shai Hope for 95. BOWLED 'EM! A corker of a yorker from Bumrah. If there is one ball you do not want to be facing in your 90s, it is that one. It just does not get better than this. A toe-crusher on leg stump, Hope manages to get his boot out of the way but does not get his bat down in time. It sneaks through and hits the leg pole. 16.12 IST: SIX! Take that, says Shai Hope! A short ball and it sits up to be hit. Hope transfers his weight onto the back foot and then pulls it over the mid-wicket fence. Also the 50-run stand is up, another good one for the visitors but they would want this one to continue. WI 171/5 in 34.2 overs.

14.13 IST: OUT! EDGED AND TAKEN! What a masterstroke by the Indian skipper there. He changed ends for Bumrah and it has worked wonders. Once again it is a delivery which is slightly short, hits the deck hard on that one and gets extra bounce. It angles away. Powell tries to defend it off the back foot but the ball takes the outside edge and flies towards Rohit Sharma at widish first slip. He takes a sharp catch moving towards his right. Both the openers back in the hut without making an impact again. Second wicket for Bumrah. Bumrah sends back Powell for 21. WI 38/2 in 8.1 overs
14.08 IST: FOUR! An expensive start by Ahmed here. Another poor ball, on the pads, easy pickings for Powell. He flicks it over square leg and into the fence. WI 37/1 in 7.5 overs
14.06 IST: SIX! All the way! That was right in the zone for Powell. Short and outside off, Powell is quick to rock onto the back foot and then pull it over mid-wicket for a biggie. WI 33/1 in 7.2 overs
*Shai Hope is the new batsman. Khaleel Ahmed is into the attack.
13.58 IST: OUT! Bumrah removes Hemraj for 15. In the air... and what a catch by Dhoni. WOW! Bumrah has the last laugh. West Indies 25/1 in 5.5 overs vs India in Pune
13.57 IST: SIX! Stand and deliver! What a shot that! Nothing wrong with the delivery. Slightly shorter in length around off, Hemraj picks the length early and then pulls it over the long on fence for a biggie. 10 from 2 balls. That boundary probably must have broken the shackles. WI 25/0 in 5.4 overs
13.56 IST: FOUR! Up and over! A much-needed boundary! Full and outside off, Hemraj tries to go over covers but he ends up slicing it over cover-point and the ball trickles into the fence. WI 19/0 in 5.3 overs
13.55 IST: Jasprit Bumrah to Chandrapaul Hemraj, Another appeal but once again the ball has pitched outside leg. Full and around leg, Hemraj tries to flick but misses to get hit on the pads. Bumrah starts appealing but then bails out.
13.48 IST: Review time! An appeal for an LBW has been turned down. Hemraj is the man in question. Pitching seems to be an issue. And it has pitched way outside leg. A poor review by India. Bumrah bowls it on a length around leg, Hemraj goes for the drive but misses to get hit on the pads. The players appeal but the umpire shakes his head. Virat Kohli after a chat with Dhoni and Bumrah goes for the review. Replays roll in and it show that the ball has pitched outside leg. That is that then. India lose their sole review and very early into the game.
13.46 IST: Jasprit Bumrah to Kieran Powell, BEATEN! Once again a loose shot by Powell. A delivery pitched just ahead of a shorter length outside off. Powell hangs his bat out, maybe trying to guide it down to third man but gets beaten.
13.41 IST: FOUR! Hemraj too is off the mark with a boundary! Short and outside off, not the best of deliveries. Hemraj puts it away with a punch off the back foot through cover-point and the ball races away. Needs to keep it on the stumps on this wicket. There is hardly any swing on offer and the ball is coming onto the bat really well. WI 9/0 in 2.2 overs
13.38 IST: An excellent over from Bumrah ends. Maiden one
*Jasprit Bumrah to bowl from the other end with the second new ball.
13.33 IST: Bhuvneshwar Kumar to Kieran Powell, BEATEN! A loose shot there! Good use of the angle by Kumar. He lands it slightly shorter and around off, it goes away with the angle. Powell throws his bat at it away from his body but luckily for him, he gets beaten. Such shots so early in the innings, just not needed.
13.32 IST: FOUR! Opens the account with a boundary! Slightly straighter, no swing on this one. Powell flicks it through mid-wicket. The outfield here is lightning fast and the ball races away for a boundary. A good way to score the first runs of the innings. WI 4/0 in 0.3 overs

13.10 IST: Pitch Report: This pitch is going to be flat. There is little bit of grass so ball might move a bit initially but once ball becomes old. It should be an excellent batting track. We are in for plenty of runs again on this pitch.
13.09 IST: Virat Kohli: We will bowl first. It looks like a good wicket. Ball comes on much better in evening. We will try to restrict Windies to a decent total and chase it down. Bhuvi and Bumrah are back in our team. We have made three changes in our team.
Jason Holder: We would have liked to bowl first too. But it is a good track and batsmen would like to bat on this track. India are an excellent side and we have to perform well in all three departments to compete against them. We have made one change in our team. Bishoo misses out and Allen makes his debut. He is an excited player. He is very quick and handy with the bat too.
13.05 IST: India have won the toss and chose to bowl first
13.00 IST: A competitive batting display in the first ODI. Then a more than a competitive batting effort in the second, almost taking the game away from India. Will the third ODI finally be a successful one for the Windies? All in all, Windies have a good opportunity to level the series while India will look to gain an unassailable lead in the series.
12.34 IST: The toss is still 26 mins away. Till then feast on our coverage of MS Dhoni's drop and Twitter reactions.

12.15 IST: Hello and welcome to our live blog of India vs West Indies, 3rd ODI, from Pune. The match will start at 13.30 IST. Stay with us while we bring you live updates leading up to the toss.
Brief Preview: Handed a reality check after West Indies salvaged a morale-boosting tie in the second game, India will be hoping to put up an improved bowling show with their frontline pacers Bhuvneshwar Kumar and Jasprit Bumrah back in action for the third ODI here on October 27. A well-oiled India hammered the Windies in the lung opener in Guwahati by eight wickets, but the gritty visitors indeed, made a statement of sorts in Visakhapatnam, by denying the hosts a victory and a chance to go 2-0 ahead in the five-match rubber. However, the absence of Bhuvneshwar and Bumrah saw Indian bowling unit being clobbered for 320 plus runs in both games. With more variations in their repertoire in white ball cricket compared to the profligate Umesh Yadav and an inconsistent Mohammed Shami, Bhuvneshwar and Bumrah are expected to make a significant difference, especially in the first Powerplay and the death overs.
