The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has announced a 12-member Team India squad which will be led by captain Virat Kohli against West Indies in the second and final Test in Hyderabad which commences from October 12.
The 12-members include the same playing XI from the 1st Test which demolished the visitors to claim their biggest ever Test win- by an innings and 272 runs.
Mayank Agarwal and Mohammad Siraj will have to wait for their turn as they have been left out, with the former being pipped to make his debut in Hyderabad.
The No.1 Test team imposed their dominance on home soil as they recorded their biggest win against the Windies after they declared at 649/9 with the help of Prithvi Shaw, Virat Kohli and Ravindra Jadeja's hundreds.
In the 10 Test matches India have played this year, India have won four so far, two on home soil and one each against South Africa and England.
The lop-sided matches are hardly the kind of preparation the Indian team would have wanted before the big-ticket series against Australia starting December.
India's 12-member squad for 2nd Test: Virat Kohli (captain), KL Rahul, Prithvi Shaw, Cheteshwar Pujara, Ajinkya Rahane, Rishabh Pant, R Ashwin, Ravindra Jadeja, Kuldeep Yadav, Umesh Yadav, Mohammed Shami and Shardul Thakur.
