India opener Rohit Sharma slammed his 13th one-day international hundred as India cruised towards a big total against Sri Lanka in the fourth ODI in Colombo on Thursday. The 30-year-old from Mumbai is now the first batsman to hit back-to-back hundreds against Sri Lanka in Sri Lanka. Rohit picked up from where he left in the third ODI in Pallekele and punctured the Sri Lankan bowling attack to help India score at a cracking pace.
Rohit, who had scored an unbeaten 124 to lead India to victory in the third ODI, took 85 balls to complete his hundred, which was studded with 10 fours and three sixes. Rohit finally perished to Angelo Mathews for 104.
India, who are already leading the five-match series 3-0, won the toss and opted to bat in hot and humid conditions in Colombo. The visitors recieved an early jolt after aggressive opener Shikhar Dhawan was removed by pacer Vishwa Fernando in the second over of the innings.
Both hit their respective fifties and stitched a 219-run stand for the second wicket - the highest in Sri Lanka.
