Highly-rated for his impressive death bowling skills - Jasprit Bumrah is an integral part of Team India's setup when it comes to the limited-overs format (ODIs and T20Is). He has time and again proved his mettle for India in the limited-overs and has emerged as the go-to bowler for the men in blue in all conditions.

The 24-year old pacer has recently been rewarded for his consistent performances in international cricket with a Test call-up for the upcoming series against South Africa which starts on January 5 in Cape Town. India are scheduled to play three Tests, six one-day internationals and three T20Is on their two-month-long tour of the Rainbow nation. 

Lately, Bumrah has developed himself as one of the finest bowling prospects in world cricket. Bumrah has played 28 ODIs and 30 T20s. He has taken 56 and 40 wickets respectively in those formats at an impressive average of 22.28 and 18.40. He has played 26 first-class matches taking 89 wickets at an average of 25.33. 

On Wednesday, India cricket team head coach Ravi Shastri said the South Africa tour is the perfect time for pacer Jasprit Bumrah to be included in the squad for his good showings in the limited-overs format. The former all-rounder also tagged Bumrah as one of the best fast bowler in the world in limited overs format of the game. 

"I think he is very exciting. In the limited overs, he has shown how good he is one of the best in the world. acknowledged by his opponent," the 55-year-old told reporters at the pre-departure press conference. 

"For Gujarat as well, he has run through the opposition, has taken five or six-wicket haul. He is a very quick learner, his confidence level is high Good time for him to get in (the squad)," Shastri added.
