Rohit Sharma slammed a fine century in his first innings as Test opener as India marched on and extended their dominance over South Africa in the second session. Mayank Agarwal also remained not out on 84 and neared his maiden Test century as India posted 202/0 from 59.1 overs as early tea was taken due to bad light. 15.45 IST: The day has been called off due to heavy rain.
14.45 IST: It's still lashing down in Vizag and any chances of a restart looks bleak. The ground remains covered and it is raining down as the players continue to wait to get back to the pitch.
14.25 IST: UPDATE: Start of the third session has been delayed because of dark skies and it's raining heavily. It will take some time to restart the game.
14.04 IST: TEA BREAK! Early tea taken as the weather got a bit harsh. With cloud cover and lightning around, the umpires decided to call for tea five balls early. India dominated another session as Rohit Sharma scored his fourth Test century and Mayank remained not out on 84. India end the second session on 202 off 59.1 overs. 13.58 IST: Philander to Rohit, FOUR! This time in sheer control and through covers. Crunched off the back foot for the second boundary of the over.
13.57 IST: Philander to Rohit, FOUR! Slashed and slashed hard. Rohit once again goes for the cut and it went at a catchable height to Aiden Markram at gully but the speed was too much and another boundary for Rohit. Moves on to 111.
13:52 IST: Maharaj to Rohit, SIX! Executes the sweep shot to slog it over mid-wicket for a maximum. Fifth of the innings for Rohit.
13:41 IST: Muthuswamy to Rohit. HUNDRED!!! 4th in Test cricket and first as an opener in the format. Cut down the point region and he gets to the mark.
13:37 IST: Maharaj to Rohit. FOUR! Just a little bit of width outside the off stump and Rohit cheekily plays the late cut. Stands one boundary away from his hundred.
13:31 IST: Muthuswamy replaces Piedt to deliver his second spell. Muthuswamy to Mayank. FOUR! Nicely driven shot from the batsman down extra cover.

13:20 IST: Piedt to Mayank. FOUR! Flat and hard! Shimmies down the track and smashes the ball straight past Rohit for a boundary. Beware Rohit! Two deliveries later, Mayank smashes the length ball towards the leg side down midwicket for a four.
13:10 IST: Shaun Pollock feels Rabada and Maharaj will South Africa's standout bowlers in the Test series against India. Run rate still 3 for India.
13:00 IST: Rabada to Rohit. FOUR! Shortish ball down the offside and Rohit pulls it hard down mid-wicket for a four.
12:55 IST: Rohit was the cynosure of the first Test heading into the game and has managed to hog all the limelight with his unbeaten fifty-plus score at Vizag. But Mayank has shown great composure as an opener as well. Playing his first innings in the format at home, Mayank has been tight with his defense and has carved out some fine range of shots including that six against Maharaj and a boundary down point against the spinner before lunch.
12.45 IST: Rabada to Rohit, FOUR! Outside off and punched through point for another boundary. Rohit is raking the fours up now and looking extremely confident for a big score.

12.32 IST: Philander to Mayank, FOUR! Lock broken. Philander pitches it up and Mayank shuffled a bit and flicked it through leg-side for a boundary. Moves on to 45 and brings up the 100-run stand for the pair.

09.54 IST: Rabada to Mayank, EDGED AND FOUR! Rabada gets an edge from the bat of Mayank but it flies through third slip and gully for a boundary. The batsman closed the surface of the bat early and the moving ball caught the edge but went safely for a boundary.

09.50 IST: Philander to Rohit, CLOSE! Philander bowls one outside off and it jags back in. Rohit left it but the ball somehow just bounces above the stumps. Very, very close.
