All eyes will be on homeboy MS Dhoni as he returns home for maybe the final time in Indian colours. Amidst the emotional side story, the Indian team is grappling with a few teething issues regarding its top-order batting, especially senior opener Shikhar Dhawan's poor form, which has affected India's starts of late. Don't miss out on any of the action as we bring you all the live scores and match updates of the India vs Australia clash live from Ranchi. (Match Scorecard)

Australia win by 32 runs

* Australia though did not let the lost momentum effect them as they came out all guns blazing with the ball. Pat Cummins and Jhye Richardson were exceptional with the new ball as they dismissed the top order within Powerplay 1. Dhoni and Kohli then played themselves in and steadied the ship with a 59-run stand. However, the former was dismissed just as he started to get going.

THE SERIES IS STILL ALIVE! Australia have managed to make it 2-1. A very convincing performance by them. After quite a few matches one cay say the Aussies have put up a good performance with both, bat and ball. They were inserted and their openers came to the fore adding a massive 193-run stand. Usman Khawaja was the star as he scored the ton. They though did not end their innings with the bat with momentum on their side but still set a good enough target of 314 for the Indians.

21.10 IST: Pat Cummins to Kuldeep Yadav, OUT! In the air... taken! There goes the last man. Cummins takes it. It is his 3rd wicket of the game. Length ball on off, Kuldeep swings but only manages a top edge. It balloons towards Finch at mid off and he makes no mistake. All smiles in the Australian camp as they HAVE WON BY 32 RUNS!

Jasprit Bumrah is the last man in.

21.07 IST: Jhye Richardson to Mohammed Shami, OUT! The fun is over! Shami departs and Richardson gets his second. Short and outside off. Shami looks to slap it but it goes off the toe end towards Cummins who takes it. Australia a wicket away now from winning their first game of the ODI series.

21.04 IST: Jhye Richardson to Mohammed Shami, FOUR! Shami is not going to go down without a fight here. He is off the mark in style. Short and on the body, Shami goes for the pull, he gets a top edge over the keeper and into the fence.

21.03 IST: Jhye Richardson to Ravindra Jadeja, OUT! Surely the game is now done, right? The last recognized batsman walks back. It is the off cutter. There is no pace at all on that delivery. Jadeja looks to go over mid on but holes out to the fielder there. Maxwell takes it easily.

21.00 IST: Glenn Maxwell to Ravindra Jadeja, SIX! India need a few more of these! Jadeja goes down on one knee and tonks it over the mid-wicket fence for a biggie.

Glenn Maxwell is back on attack

20.57 IST: Jhye Richardson to Ravindra Jadeja, Slower delivery on the pads, Jadeja flicks it hard but there is fine leg for protection so only a single.

20.53 IST: FOUR! Good shot from Kuldeep. Full on middle and leg, Yadav just nudges it towards the backward point region. The ball is timed perfectly and the ball races away to the fence.

*Kuldeep Yadav is the new man in.

20.48 IST: OUT! Shankar holes out! India's last hope is walking back. He was well-set, striking the ball nicely but falls at the wrong time. Australia into the bowlers now. This is tossed up, around middle, Shankar goes for the slog sweep again. Hits it nicely but does not get the desired elevation. It goes towards the man at deep mid-wicket. Jhye Richardson there takes a good low catch. It is Australia's game to lose now.

20.46 IST: FOUR! In the gap! They need a boundary every over and Shankar has hit one in the last over and hits one in this. Brings out the slog sweep. It is not off the middle but hit well enough to clear the fielder at mid-wicket and away from the fielder in the deep.

20.42 IST: FOUR! Much-needed boundary and a beautiful shot this. Makes room and also dances down the track. Gets to the pitch of it and lofts it over covers for a boundary.

Ravindra Jadeja is the new man in.

20.24 IST: Adam Zampa to Virat Kohli, OUT! BOWLED 'EM! Zampa has the last laugh! He gets the man Australia desperately wanted. Zampa is pumped up. He has got all the three big wickets, first Dhoni, then Jadhav and now Kohli. Once again it is the full ball which does the trick for him. It lands on leg stump, Kohli looks to flick but misses. The ball kisses the leg pole.

20.23 IST:  Adam Zampa to Virat Kohli, FOUR! Consecutive boundaries! Zampa overcompensates and bowls it short on middle, Kohli goes back and pulls it over the mid-wicket fielder and into the fence. Zampa feeling the pressure here, two poor balls to begin with.

20.22 IST: Zampa to Kohli, FOUR! Kohli is in some mood now! He is smashing everything at the moment. Full and outside off, Kohli strokes it wide of the cover fielder and away from the sweeper for a boundary. Ideal start to the over and pressure on the bowler now.

20.20 IST: Pat Cummins to Vijay Shankar, Almost plays it on! Slower ball outside off, Shankar plays it with an angled bat but he gets an inside edge which goes close past the leg pole and down to fine leg for a run.

20.19 IST: Pat Cummins to Virat Kohli, On the pads, Kohli works it around the corner. Takes one and then goes for the second. Completes it with ease.

20.16 IST: FOUR! Edge but India will take it. Short outside off, Shankar looks to cut it but gets a thick outside edge and it flies past the vacant slip region for a boundary.

20.14 IST: Adam Zampa to Virat Kohli, SIXVirat goes down town. Flighted on off and middle, Kohli takes the aerial route and lofts it over long on. It goes high in the air and for a moment it looked like it will fall to the fielder. But it has enough on it to take it over the ropes.

20.12 IST: Glenn Maxwell to Virat Kohli, 100 for India's run machine. Back-to-back for him and it is his 41st ODI ton. What a player this guy is. Once again he is leading from the front and once again it is in a high-pressure situation. He gets there with a whip towards wide long on and takes two. The crowd is up here on its feet, giving him a standing ovation. The skipper though will know, the job is yet not done.

20.11 IST: Glenn Maxwell to Vijay Shankar, NOT OUT! Yes it has pitched outside leg. Australia have lost their review here. Flighted ball pitching outside leg, Shankar looks to sweep but misses. There is a stifled appeal from Maxwell but they go upstairs for the review. Replays roll in and the Hawk eye show that it was pitching outside leg. Australia lose their review.

20.09 IST: Glenn Maxwell to Virat Kohli, Was it a drop? Flighted outside off, Kohli looks to defend but misses. Carey misses the ball behind the stumps. Replays show that Kohli's bat hit his pad. So not a drop.

20.06 IST: Adam Zampa to Vijay Shankar, On middle and leg, Shankar finds the fielder at mid-wicket with his flick. End of a good tight over from Zampa, just 4 runs from it. IND 186/5 in 34 Overs

20.01 IST: Glenn Maxwell to Vijay Shankar, Nicely bowled now! This is pitched around off and it turns back in a little. Shankar looks to play with the turn but misses. The ball goes extremely close past the off pole, the keeper fails to collect it and a bye is taken.

20.00 IST: FOUR! Nicely played! This is bowled quicker and outside off. Shankar goes back and then just uses the pace of the ball and guides it through point for a boundary.

Vijay Shankar is the new man in.

19.57 IST: OUT! LBW! Stun silence here in Ranchi. Tossed up delivery on off, Jadhav looks to sweep but misses and gets hit right in front. Zampa thinks he has got his man and the umpire agrees with him and shows Jadhav the dreaded finger. A very unnecessary shot at this stage of the game.

19.54 IST: Zampa to Kohli, FOUR!

19.49 IST: Jhye Richardson to Virat Kohli, FOUR! SLAPPED! What a shot this is! Not a very bad delivery that. Length and outside off, Kohli makes room and then hits it hard through covers and the ball races away to the fence. Already 8 from the over.

19.48 IST: Jhye Richardson to Virat Kohli, FOUR! It is raining boundaries here! On the pads and it is too easy for Kohli. He flicks it fine on the leg side and a boundary results.

Jhye Richardson is back on.

19.46 IST: Nathan Lyon to Virat Kohli, FOUR! Very poor from Lyon. Off spinner on the pads, Kohli just helps it on its way towards the fine leg fence for a boundary. IND 157/4 in 29.1 Overs

19.38 IST: Glenn Maxwell to Virat Kohli, FOUR LEG BYES! This is tossed up on off, it turns back in. Kohli looks to flick but misses. It hits his pads and goes past the keeper for a boundary. Maxwell in the meantime is appealing but the umpire shakes his head. Glenn really likes it and he is trying to convince his captain to go for the review. Carey though feels it is doing a lot and they do not go for it. Hawk-Eye, later on, shows that it is going over the stumps so a good decision to not review it.

Glenn Maxwell is on attack now.

19.36 IST: Marcus Stoinis to Virat Kohli, FOUR! Excellent and effortless. Fuller ball on off, Kohli gets on his front foot and plays a textbook cover drive for a boundary. Gets the 50-run partnership between the two. 177 runs more required off 144 deliveries.

19.10 IST: Adam Zampa to Kedar Jadhav, FOUR! Beautiful. Shorter in length on off, Jadhav waits for it and cuts it through point to get off the mark with a boundary.

Kedar Jadhav walks out at number 6.

19.08 IST: Adam Zampa to MS Dhoni, OUT! TIMBER! Pin-drop silence here. A wicket at the right time for Australia and at the wrong time for India. Just as the runs started to come for the hosts, Zampa gets the dangerous Dhoni. IND 86/4 in 19.1 Overs

19.06 IST: Nathan Lyon to Dhoni, SIX! HUGE! When Dhoni connects, it is going to end in the stands. Uses his feet and hits it with the spin so the risk in the shot is minimum. It goes over the mid-wicket stand.

19.05 IST: Nathan Lyon to Virat Kohli, Works it through the gap in the mid-wicket region and the batsmen take two. 50-run stand up, a very important one as the two joined association when India were in huge trouble. They though hold the key.

19.04 IST: Nathan Lyon to MS Dhoni, WIDE! Down the leg side and it has been called a wide.

19.00 IST: Adam Zampa to MS Dhoni, Uses his feet but does not get to the pitch of it. He looks to work it across the line but misses. Is hit on the pads. An appeal follows but the umpire shakes his head. The ball rolls towards point so the batsmen take a leg bye.

* Ambati Rayudu is the new man in. Perfect opportunity for him to seal his spot for the big stage.

18.04 IST: Pat Cummins to Rohit Sharma, OUT! Excellent review. No inside edge and Sharma has to walk back. Good length delivery on off, the ball comes in after pitching. Rohit looks to play across the line but misses. The Australian players are convinced they have got their man, The umpire does not feel so. Pat Cummins has a chat with his skipper and he is convinced he has his man. They go for the review. Hawk-Eye rolls in and shows Sharma is caught plumb in front. India lose both their openers. Rohit Sharma feels he had got a feather on it but Snicko didn't feel that

17.46 IST: Pat Cummins to Rohit Sharma, Finally a hint of inswing for Pat. Length delivery on off, Sharma looks to cut it but gets an inside edge onto the pads. Lucky for him, on another day that might have chopped onto his stump.

17.43 IST: Pat Cummins to Shikhar Dhawan, India off the mark straight away. Full-length delivery on off, Dhawan hits it wide of mid off and gets off the mark.

* We are back for the chase. Out walk Indian openers, Rohit Sharma and Shikhar Dhawan. Shikhar Dhawan to take the strike. Pat Cummins to start with the first new ball for Australia.

The target is a challenging one and it is going to be a real test for the Indian batters. The wicket did show signs of slowing up as the game progressed but it may just ease off under lights. Also if the dew sets in, Australia might just find themselves 20-30 runs short here. Join us in a while for the chase.

* The Indian bowling looked out of sorts to begin with. Their pacers were taken for runs at the start. The spinners who normally apply the breaks in the middle overs failed to do so. They though did extremely well to pull things back towards the end. Kuldeep finished with most wickets as he had three to his name. Shami and Bumrah also fared well at the office. The rest though weren't quite upto the mark.

The Aussies though will still be pleased with their batting effort. They were led by their openers, Usman Khawaja and Aaron Finch. The pair added 193-runs with the skipper falling 7 short of a ton, whereas, his partner scored his maiden ODI century. Maxwell then played a handy cameo and added yet another handy stand with the southpaw. When the two were batting 350 seemed possible. Australia though then lost their way. From 258 for 2 they slipped to 263 for 5 as their middle order hardly contributed anything. Cameos from Stoinis and Carey saw them go above the 300-run mark.

An excellent comeback from the Indians, they have not let Australia run away with the game here. For one moment it did seem that the Aussies would head into the break as clear favorites but it is somewhat even-stevens.

17.06 IST: Jasprit Bumrah to Marcus Stoinis, Full outside off, Stoinis hits it to covers and takes a single. 10 runs off the final over. Australia end with 313/5 off their 50 overs.

17.02 IST: Jasprit Bumrah to Alex Carey, FOUR! Carey makes room for himself and clears his front leg away from the line and thumps the length ball outside off through point for a boundary.

17.01 IST: Mohammed Shami to Marcus Stoinis, FOUR! The last ball spoils the over! Shami is guilty of bowling it on the pads, Stoinis flicks it through square leg and it races away to the fence. Much needed this. AUS 303/5 in 49 Overs

16.59 IST: Mohammed Shami to Marcus Stoinis, A low full toss, not easy to get those away. Stoinis only manages to hit it down to long on and gets to the other end. 5 from the 4 balls bowled.

16.55 IST: Jasprit Bumrah to Marcus Stoinis, FOUR! No power just pure placement. A very low full toss outside off, Stoinis just opens the face of the bat and guides it to the vacant backward square leg fence for a boundary.

16.52 IST: Jasprit Bumrah to Marcus Stoinis, Straight as an arrow. Good length delivery on middle, Stoinis moves away, wide of his leg stump and hits it straight. It goes on to hit the stump at the bowler's end.

16.48 IST: Mohammed Shami to Alex Carey, FOUR! Back-to-back boundaries! This is a better shot than the last one. Full and on middle, Carey strokes it back past the bowler and down to the long on fence. AUS 284/5 in 46.3 Overs

16.47 IST: Mohammed Shami to Alex Carey, FOUR! Carey Gets this one in the gap, beats the dive of Shankar and a boundary! Length ball around off, Carey makes room and then hits it to the right of Shankar at mid off. He dives over the ball and then it races to the fence.

16.43 IST: Jasprit Bumrah to Alex Carey, A full toss on the pads, Carey is beaten for pace as he fails to put bat on ball. It hits his pads and rolls towards covers. Carey wants a run but is sent back.

Jasprit Bumrah is back into the attack now.

16.38 IST;  Mohammed Shami to Marcus Stoinis, FOUR! Short and punished. Shami attempts a slower bouncer. He ends up serving it on a good length for Stoinis to hit. Marcus obliges and cuts it through point for a boundary.

*Alex Carey is the next batsman.

16.34 IST: OUT! Two in three balls for Yadav and all of a sudden, half the side is back in the hut for Australia. Third for Kuldeep. Handscomb bags a duck. From 258 for 2, Australia are now 263 for 5. The leg spinner outside off, it pitches and then turns back in. PH looks to flick but misses. It hits him on the front pad. An appeal follows and the umpire raises the finger.

*Peter Handscomb is the new man in.

16.32 IST: OUT! Another one bites the dust and Australia are losing their way here! Marsh is the man who is walking back. He uses his feet but does not get to the pitch of the ball. He still goes ahead with the shot but does not get the elevation he would have liked. Ends up hitting it flat towards long on. Shankar there runs to his right and takes a neat catch.

*Marcus Stoinis is the new man in.

16.26 IST: OUT! Maxwell is short! The Big Show has been run out. The last thing Australia would have wanted. But what brilliance first from Jadeja and then from Dhoni. Especially on a day where India have been lackluster in the field. Kuldeep bowls it short and outside off, Marsh goes back and slaps it hard towards cover and sets off for a run, thinking there is at least a couple on offer. Jadeja though first dives to his right and stops it, not cleanly but he recovers well and fires the ball to the keeper. Dhoni nonchalantly flicks it onto the stumps and appeals. The umpire takes it upstairs and replays show that Maxwell has to take the long walk back. The crowd erupts and the Indians are ecstatic. Maxwell was striking the ball really well there. This can make a huge difference to the final total as now there are two new batsmen out in the middle. 9 did come from the over but an important wicket too. AUS 258/3 in 42 overs

16.21 IST: Ravindra Jadeja to Shaun Marsh, Almost a calamity for Australia. Tossed up delivery on off, Marsh tucks it wide of the mid-wicket fielder. Maxwell runs the first one hard and goes for the second. Marsh is slighlty hesitant for it but goes with it. The throw at the bowler's end is a lose one. Jadeja shoots at the keeper's end and hits but Marsh was in.

16.18 IST: Ravindra Jadeja to Glenn Maxwell, Arm ball to start up with, Maxwell looks to defend but it goes to the leg side off the inner half of the bat. Jadeja goes and gathers the batt but a single is taken.

Power play 3 signalled by the umpire. India can now have maximum of 5 fielders outside the inner circle. Ravindra Jadeja back into the attack.

16.17 IST: Jasprit Bumrah to Shaun Marsh, Had Ambati Rayudu hit there, Maxwell was a goner! Marsh pushes it towards cover and takes off. Maxwell responds. AR is quick to the ball and has a shy at the keeper's end but misses to Maxwell's luck. Had that been another day, India might have hit the stumps. They have been poor today.

16.15 IST: Jasprit Bumrah to Glenn Maxwell, Another misfiled! Very poor this by the Indians. Full and on the pads, it is flicked towards mid-wicket. Rayudu there lets it through and the batsmen take two.

Jasprit Bumrah is back into the attack.

16.12 IST: Mohammed Shami to Shaun Marsh, Well bowled! Another slower ball outside off, Marsh first looks to guide it down to third man but then bails out.

Shaun Marsh is the new man in.

16.08 IST: Mohammed Shami to Usman Khawaja, OUT! Shami strikes! Khawaja departs soon after getting to his ton! The slower ball does the trick. Khawaja is slightly early into his shot. He ends up getting it off the inner half towards short mid-wicket where Bumrah takes an easy one. The dangerous and budding 46-run stand has come to an end and India need to keep taking wickets if they are to stem the run flow.

16.04 IST: Ravindra Jadeja to Usman Khawaja, 100 for Khawaja! His maiden in ODIs. He has crafted his innings wonderfully here. He gets this with a clip on the leg side for a single. He took his time to get to the milestone but it is now time for him to step on the gas. AUS 232/1 in 37 Overs

16.02 IST: Ravindra Jadeja to Glenn Maxwell, FOUR! Elegant! 14 from the first three balls. This time, Maxwell makes room and also steps down the track. He goes inside out over covers for another boundary. Maxwell is on the charge here.

16.00 IST: Ravindra Jadeja to Glenn Maxwell, FOUR! A wild slog and it gets him the desired result. Picks his spot as there is no fielder in the deep mid-wicket region. Hits it over the fielder in the ring and bags a boundary. 10 from the first two balls.

15.59 IST:  Ravindra Jadeja to Glenn Maxwell, SIX! Just over! Second for Maxwell. A little too full on middle, Maxwell hits it hard to the right of the fielder at long on. He stretches a hand out but fails to reach it. It goes all the way.

15.57 IST: Vijay Shankar to Glenn Maxwell, FOUR! Gorgeous shot! Steps down the track and converts it into a half volley. Maxwell then strokes it through extra cover and it races away to the fence.

15.45 IST: Kuldeep Yadav to Usman Khawaja, Direct hit needed but misses! You normally see Jadeja hit the stumps but this time he does not. Khawaja taps it towards point. Both the batsmen hesitate before going for a run. Jadeja picks the ball up and fires it at the non-striker's end but misses.

15.42 IST: Jasprit Bumrah to Glenn Maxwell, Full length delivery on off, Maxwell hits it straight. Bumrah stretches his right hand and gathers the ball.

Promotion for Glenn Maxwell. He replaces his skipper and walks out at number 3.

15.38 IST: Kuldeep Yadav to Aaron Finch, OUT! It has pitched in line, hitting in line and is hitting the middle stump! Kuldeep Yadav has provided what India wanted. The mammoth 193-run stand has been broken. Finch falls in the nervous 90s. This is flatter and around middle, it pitches and turns back in. Finch goes back to play it but is a little late in bringing his bat down. It hits the front pad. An appeal follows and the umpire agrees. Finch reviews after having a chat with his partner. AUS 193/1 in 31.5 Overs
