Team India captain Virat Kohli has found himself in a fresh controversy after a video footage emerged on social media where he took a dig at a fan for performing other country's batsmen and said that 'those live in our country and like other things should not live in India.'
Kohli was recording for a session for his official app and while scrolling through his social media feed, he came across a comment where a certain fan criticised the Team India captain, calling him 'overrated' while admiring Australian and English batsmen.
The captain read out the tweet - "Over-rated batsman and personally I see nothing special in his batting. I enjoy watching English and Australian batsmen more than these Indians."
To the message, Kohli didn't hesitate to speak his mind. "Okay, I don’t think you should live in India then… you should go and live somewhere else no. Why are you living in our country and loving other countries? I don’t mind you not liking me but I don’t think you should live in our country and like other things. Get your priorities right.”
Take a look at the video below.
The Indian captain has been rested from the ongoing three-match T20Is against West Indies which India has already clinched 2-0, with a game to spare, thanks to Rohit Sharma's historic fourth T20I ton which led the Men in Blue to victory.
Kohli has been instrumental in India's victories as recently he became the only Indian to hammer three successive ODI tons in a row against West Indies in the 5-match series which India won 3-1.
He now has 38 ODI tons and also became the fastest to reach 10,000 ODI runs, eclipsing Sachin Tendulkar's previously held record.
