Pakistan pacer Hasan Ali and Bangladesh all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan have been fined for breaching the code of conduct during a Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) match at the Sher-e-Bangla stadium on Monday.

The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) found Ali and Shakib guilty of violating Level 1 and Level 2 offence, respectively during Comilla Victorians' BPL clash against Dhaka Dynamite.

Ali was penalised 25 percent of his match fees after being found guilty of breaching Article 2.1.7 of the BCB code of conduct, which relates to "using language, actions or gestures which disparage or which could provoke an aggressive reaction from a batsman upon his dismissal during a match".

As the Pakistan fast bowler admitted the misconduct and accepted the sanction proposed by match referee Samiur Rahman, there will be no further hearing.

Besides fine, two demerit points have also been added to the disciplinary record of Hasan.

Shakib, on the other hand, has been fined 50 per cent of the match fee under Article 2.2.4 of the BCB code of conduct, which relates to "using language or gesture(s) that is seriously obscene, seriously offensive or of a seriously insulting nature to another player, player support personnel, umpire, match referee or any other third person during a match".

The all-rounder rounder was charged for showing disapproval at an umpiring decision during Victorians' innings after batsman Imrul Kayes was declared not out to a caught behind appeal, the Dawn reported.

Under Article 7.5 of the code, if the player reaches four (04) or more demerit points in the tournament, the points will then be converted into suspension points.

Earlier, Hasan produced a brilliant performance as he bagged a five-wicket haul by conceding 20 runs to put Victorians in a commanding position against the Dhaka Dynamites in his opening match of the BPL.
