New Delhi: Despite facing criticism for his unpleasant remarks on Indian players, veteran commentator Harsha Bhogle who has recently been shown the exit door from IPL’s commentary panel took a dig at Indian skipper Mahendra Singh Dhoni for his comparatively slow innings against Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) yesterday.
Dhoni led Rising Pune Supergiants suffered their third consecutive defeat in the tournament after having won the inaugural match. Scoring 41 runs off 38 balls in yesterday’s match, Dhoni couldn’t lead his side to victory against Virat Kohli led RCB.
Taking note of his innings that included three boundaries, Harsha Bhogle wrote on Twitter, “180+ run chase. 41 (38) can't win it for you. Some days it might come off but most days it won't from there.”
Earlier, a debate took place on Twitter regarding Indian commentators’ over-critical approach towards their players when megastar Amitabh Bachchan tweeted, “With all due respect, it would be really worthy of an Indian commentator to speak more about our players than others all the time.”
MS Dhoni in no time had retweeted it saying ‘Nothing to add.”
Some reports suggest that Bhogle’s ouster from IPL had to with discontent of Indian players.
