Indian cricketer Gautam Gambhir today lashed out at “anti-Indians” on Twitter saying that “for every slap an Indian soldier faces...at least 100 jihadi lives” must be taken.
The 35-year-old batsman’s outrage came on a recent video that went viral showing an Indian army Jawan being manhandled by Kashmiri horde.
Using the micro-blogging site Twitter to vent his anger, Gambhir said: ‘Whoever wants Azadi’ (freedom) should ‘leave now’.
The Kolkata Knight Riders captain then followed it with another Tweet saying, “Anti-Indians hav forgotten dat our flag also stands 4: saffron - fire of our anger, white - shroud for jihadis, green - hatred 4 terror.”
Virendra Sehwag too strongly reacted on the video said "there's a limit to misbehaviour" against the armed forces.
Last month, the batsman spoke in favour of Indian Army and at the same time he also defended Delhi University student Gurmehar Kaur, who became a point of heated social media and TV debates after she spearheaded a social media campaign against the ABVP’s violence in DU.
India TV had reported on April 11 how jawans were targeted on the streets of Kashmir, but did not retaliate owing to orders to follow restraint.
It was an incident of Budgam District of Jammu and Kashmir and a team of CRPF jawans were on duty on the polling booths during By-elections.
After completing their duty hours, the mob on the street started hitting jawans furiously.
But Indian soldiers controlled themselves and did not retaliate to the situation.
