Before Delhi Capitals face off with Mumbai Indians on Thursday, DC's Prithvi Shaw had a memorable evening as the youngster had dinner with Sachin Tendulkar. The Mumbai camp are currently in the capital city as Delhi host Rohit Sharma and Co at the Feroz Shah Kotla.
Shaw took to Twitter to post a picture with the Master Blaster having dinner with him. Here's what DC's opener wrote. 'Thank you SACHIN SIR for the lovely dinner. It's always a pleasure meeting you SIR'.
Shaw has been inconsistent in this season of the IPL as the youngster has scored 187 runs in 8 matches played, with an average of 23.37 and 99 being his highest score so far.
Despite both teams bragging of a balanced side, all the focus would be on Kotla's pitch which has already copped criticism for its slowish nature. Ponting had described it as the "worst possible" track for the home team after a loss earlier in the tournament.
Apart from the super over game against KKR, the other two matches here have been low-scoring affairs with the home team ending on the wrong side of the result on both occasions.
Other than the Kotla wicket, all eyes would be on Rishabh Pant after his fiercely-debated World Cup exclusion when a buoyant Delhi Capitals aim to replicate its stellar away form at home against the Mumbai Indians in an Indian Premier League match on Thursday.
Pant has been mum on being ignored for the World Cup in favour of Dinesh Karthik and it would be interesting to see how the 21-year-old's bat responds to the disappointment.
