Mahendra Singh Dhoni has been in the sport long enough now that he has played against two set of cricketing generations in his 15-year career. From a long-haired explosive batsman to a calm and mature captain, MS Dhoni has seen it all in in the white, blue and yellow jersey.
However, an interesting fact has come up which can leave the readers a bit puzzled.
Rajasthan Royals have a youngster present in their squad, Riyan Parag, who is 17 years old. During Chennai Super Kings clash against Rajasthan Royals, Dhoni had taken a catch to dismiss the teenager at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur.
Coincidentally, going back to roughly about 19 years, during his initial stages as a cricketer, a young Dhoni had stumped Riyan Parag's father, Parag Das in Bihar's East Zone league match against Assam.
Coming to 2019 in the 12th edition of the Indian Premier League, Dhoni claimed a catch of Riyan Parag, who made his debut for the Royals on April 11, 2019.
It was popular cricket commentator Harsh Bhogle who unearthed the stat.
CSK went on to win the match against Rajasthan and once the action was over, Riyan managed to click a picture with the CSK skipper.
Another stunning fact comes into play as a picture emerged with a three-year-old Riyan alongside Dhoni.
Riyan's father, Parag Das, shed light on the photo and said that it was during an International match which was being hosted in Guwahati.
"The photo was taken by Riyan's mom. When the Indian team came to Guwahati for a match, but it was abandoned due to rain. Indian players went to shooting range for fun and at that time this photo was clicked," Parag Das was quoted as saying by Deccan Chronicle.
Recently, Riyan Parag's knock led Rajasthan Royals to pull off a stunning win over Kolkata Knight Riders. His innings of 47 gave Rajasthan the much-needed confidence after the visitors' key batsmen were back in the hut at Eden Gardens. Parag's heroics was followed by bowling all-rounder Jofra Archer leading RR to the finishing line.
