Ishant Sharma and Ravindra Jadeja were involved in a verbal spat during the Perth Test

Ishant Sharma and Ravindra Jadeja were seen involved in a verbal spat in Perth on day four of the second Test match between India and Australia.

While the stump microphone recordings of the exchanges between Tim Paine and Virat Kohli was out there for everyone to hear but the recording of the argument between Ishant and Jadeja, which stopped after Kuldeep Yadav and Mohammed Shami intervened, remained under cover.

However, ESPNcricinfo got access to the stump mic recording and according to reports, this is the transcript (translated in English) of the 'colourful' conversation between Ishant and Jadeja:

Ishant: "Don't wave at me, okay? If you need something..."

Ishant: "He is telling me from behind to go fast."

Jadeja: "Even I don't like it. I am also a part of the team. Why are you talking so much?"

Ishant: "Don't wave at me. Don't show me your anger. I will take your anger and shove it up your arse."

Jadeja: "You keep yours to yourself."

Ishant: "I will shove your anger up your arse."

Jadeja: "Don't give me this b******t."

Ishant: "You also don't talk to me."

The issue of stump mic volumes being kept up has cropped up time and again and this is perhaps another incident that makes one thing about the requirement to do so.

The cricketing fraternity is divided in opinion regarding the same. While some believe there is no need to have the volumes so up and show the whole world what is going on in the field, some feel it is okay and take the viewers closer to the game.

During the Perth Test, Kohli and Paine's exchanges were heard while Rishabh Pant's banter against Pat Cummins in Adelaide, was also a talking point.

When Kohli was asked after the match, what his views regarding the stump mic are, he said: "With the stump mics and cameras and all these things, honestly when the bowler is bowling you aren't thinking whether the stump mic is on or the camera is on or not. And when you are facing that ball, literally there is no one in the stadium apart from you and that ball.

"So, these things are totally irrelevant, and you are actually not aware of them when you are on the field. It's never bothered me, it's never been something that's of importance to me to be honest. For me it's irrelevant."
