After grooming India Under-19 and 'A' players, Rahul Dravid all set to take charge of NCA

Under Dravid, the U-19 brigade lifted the World Cup trophy in 2018 under Prithvi Shaw's leadership and also reached the final of the same in 2016.

After grooming India Under-19 and 'A' players, Rahul Dravid all set to take charge of NCA

After nurturing India's Under-19 and 'A' teams, Rahul Dravid is all set to take over the charge of Board of Control for Cricket in India's (BCCI) National Cricket Academy (NCA).

Under Dravid, the U-19 brigade lifted the World Cup trophy in 2018 under Prithvi Shaw's leadership and also reached the final of the same in 2016. 

Now with NCA, Dravid is aiming to groom the next generations of Indian players to get them ready for the big challenges in future.

According to a report in Times of India, Dravid will take over the charge soon but his position is not yet confirmed in the NCA. He will be incharge of selecting the coaches for the academies across India including the NCA in Bangalore as per in the reports. 

Committee of Administrator (CoA) is expected to make the official announcement soon.

"Rahul has been handling junior cricket for a while now and the results have been phenomenal. It's only natural that he had to get involved with affairs at the NCA (in the present position). Now, he's determined to bring about a complete turnaround at the academy. With the kind of vision he has, it's already a given now that this is his role until he decides to stay," TOI quoted a source as saying. 

"For all practical purposes, NCA will now be Rahul's baby," the source added. Apart from the u-19 team, Dravid has also tasted success with India A team also, under his guidance young guns of India have improved alot and managed to steal spot in the senior national team.

In NCA, Dravid's major role will be to rejuvenate the academy for the betterment of young players, where they will get the proper infrastructure and facilities.

Players like Mayank Aggarwal, Vijay Shankar, Prithvi Shaw who are now are now regulars in India's senior team are groomed under Dravid's guidance. With this new role, Indian might find some new young stars for the future.
