Australia have announced the playing XI for the series decider against India in Melbourne and have made two changes as Adam Zampa and Billy Stanlake come in for Jason Behrendorff and Nathan Lyon.
Stanlake replaces Behrendorff, who has been ruled out due to back soreness, while Zampa comes in place of Lyon. Melbourne Renegades paceman Kane Richardson has also been called to the squad as cover.
Lyon, who was the joint highest wicket-taker in the recently concluded Test series along with India's Jasprit Bumrah, could not replicate his form with the white ball. However, the spinner had the backing of skipper Aaron Finch.
“I think he’s been really impressive,” said Finch, according to cricket.com.au.
“Obviously not getting a wicket, he’d have liked a bit more return for that.
“When he keeps bowling that well, he will get rewarded eventually.”
The Men in Blue bounced back in fashionable style to win the second ODI in Adelaide by 6 wickets with the help of Virat Kohli's ton and MS Dhoni's starry fifty to help India level the series. Veteran Shaun Marsh also notched up a ton in the same match as well.
Australia host India the final ODI of the series and tour in Melbourne on January 18.
