He had drawn his fourth-round game against Shakhriyar Mamedyarov (Azerbaijan) in 70 moves in an Alekhine variation game.
Anand told Saurabh Chaudhary that he has been hearing fantastic things about the shooters and hope that they would excel in the Olympics too.
At 12 years, four months and 25 days, Mishra achieved the feat after scoring his third GM norm in the April Vezerkepzo tournament in Budapest on Wednesday.
The event was conducted to raise funds for those suffering due to the coronavirus pandemic.
