Born without fibulas, Oscar Pistorius started his sprint training on prosthetic legs in 2003 when he was in high school. With a win in the 200m at the Athens Paralympics, he became a gold medallist Paralympian for the first time in his career.
The Gold medalist at the 2004, 2008 and 2012 Paralympic Games and the former World champion was convicted in the murder of his girlfriend Reeva Steenkamp on February 14, 2013 and is facing a 15-year jail term.
The court upheld an appeal by prosecutors, who challenged Pistorius' original six-year jail sentence saying it was too lenient for his conviction of murder in the shooting of girlfriend.
