Delhi hit-and-run case: A case has been registered against the unidentified suspect for dragging the traffic personnels before their car and also violating traffic rules. A case has registered under section 109(1)/221/132/121(1)/3(5) BNS, of such offence.
The food delivery agent was rushed to Safdarjung Hospital, where he was declared brought dead. He was mowed down while crossing a road on Outer Ring Road in southwest Delhi.
According to the statement, CCTV footage have shown that Delhi Police constable Sandeep took a left turn in the street and indicated the car to slow down, but the vehicle hit him from behind.
The accident took place when the victim, 23-year-old Akshat Garg, was riding his bike with his friends on the Golf Course Road in DLF Phase II on Sunday.
The driver fled the accident spot but was arrested by the police the next day. The Delhi Police checked nearby CCTV cameras to identify the car. The car which belonged to the friend of the accused was impounded by the police.
