The Prime Minister said departments have also been instructed to immediately dispatch necessary equipment in floods affected regions of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana. The IMD has forecast thunderstorms accompanied by lightning in parts of Andhra Pradesh for four days from September 2 to 5.
India had earlier described similar reports as "factually incorrect" that blamed India for the devastating floods in Bangladesh. The South Asian country, along with India's Tripura, is witnessing heavy rainfall that have killed at least 30 people in the neighbouring nation.
Typhoon Shanshan is moving slowly towards the Shikoku island, bringing heavy rain and floods that have killed six people so far and cut off power to 250,000 households. Travel services have been suspended and factories also shut down operations on Friday.
