Harbinder Kaur bravely fought against the accused Policemen, for publicly beating her and her father. They went to the police station to register a complaint against sexual harassment. Finally, Supreme Court ordered suspension of all the police officials involved in this case.

When a bus driver went berserk in Pune, Kutty got on his motorcycle and went after it to make the driver stop. The bus driver had already killed 9 people and injured 36 others. Kutty halted his vehicle and jumped into the moving bus pounced on the driver, dragged him out from the cabin and handed him over to the police.
Constable Ganesh Manohar Sonawane
Ganesh Manohar Sonawane, braved the waves to rescue a 27-year old woman who was drifting into the sea. Knowing that every second counted, Sonawane flew into action. Though a non-swimmer, he cast aside his apprehensions and took the plunge. After 30 minutes of struggle, he managed to get that woman out of water.

Akanksha Gaute
In Chhattisgarh, a group of miscreants started abusing Akanksha and her father when they were on their way home at night. With nine years of training in martial arts and a black-belt in karate, Akanksha was unfazed. She beat up three of them and handed them over to the police.
Arunima Sinha
Arunima Sinha lost her leg while putting up a brave fight against thieves on train. While still being treated in the All India Institute of Medical Sciences, she resolved to climb Mount Everest. She became the first female amputee to scale Everest by reaching the summit in just 52 days.
Barun Biswas
A 39-year old school teacher Barun led a campaign against the reign of criminals who gang raped and misbehaved with females of the region and eventually managed to clean the region of these criminals. He also protested against misappropriation of funds at his own school. He was shot dead by three men on a bike, as soon as he stepped out of the Gobordanga Railway Station. This braveheart fought valiantly till his last breath.

Razia Sultan
Razia, a resident of Nanglakhumba village in Meerut District, after being rescued by a NGO joined a school and eventually became a youth leader in her native place. In her new role, she encouraged other children in her village to join schools. Razia has transformed the lives of more than 48 children trapped in child labour from different regions.
Varsha Deshpande
Advocate Varsha Deshpande exposed the thriving sex determination racket. She is also the founder member of Lek Laadki Abhiyaan, an organisation which began clamping down on sex determination tests since 2005. The organisation has conducted 34 sting operations on erring sonography centres across Maharashtra.
Lakshmi
Lakshmi was attacked with acid by a spurned lover 17 years elder to her, while she was going to a bookstore. The deadly attack disfigured her face, ears, hands and chest but could not scar her spirits. Now 23 years old Lakshmi, is fighting against acid attacks. She had filed a PIL in the Supreme Court seeking tougher regulations due to which new rules have been formed to regulate the sale of acid.

Col. Ajay Kothiyal
Col Ajay Kothiyal, and his team played a stellar role in rescue and relief operations of the pilgrims trapped in the Uttrakhand floods. Col Ajay and his rescue team saved lives of nearly 6,500 pilgrims and sent them to safer places. The team found an alternate route to reach Kedarnath via Kaliganga from Chaimasi. The rescue teams also provided medicines and food to the trapped people.
Capt. Bikramjeet
Captain Bikramjeet displayed exemplary sense of duty, leadership and perseverance in face of odds while rescuing the pilgrims in distress during operation Uttrakhand floods. As team leader of first rescue team, he led by example and constructed an improvised crossing point. This lead to opening of a new route between Gaurikund and Sonprayag facilitating evacuation of over 3000 pilgrims.
Additional SP Navneet Singh Bhullar
Navneet Singh Bhullar, additional SP of Uttrakhand Police, is known for his rescue Operation at Kedarnath. This courageous officer not only saved lives of many people stuck in the floods but also performed last rites of the dead bodies found there. Within a week under his leadership his team rescued more than 1600 trapped pilgrims.
Sanjeev Kumar Balyaan
Sanjeev Balyaan the pradhan of Muzaffarnagar , brought Jats of the village readily under his leadership to bring Muslims to their homes during the communal riot. He also provided them with food and lodging. As tension escalated further, these affected families were transferred to safer villages.
