Two project directors of the Rajasthan State Road Development Corporation (RSRDC) and a retired assistant accounts officer were arrested on Monday while accepting a bribe of Rs 1.20 lakh, according to an official from the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB).

The arrested individuals include Siyaram Chandrawat, the executive engineer and project director posted in Dholpur, Lakshman Singh, the executive engineer and project director in Bharatpur, and Mahesh Chand Gupta, a retired assistant accounts officer currently working as a consultant with the corporation. The three had allegedly demanded the bribe in exchange for processing bill payments related to construction work.

"A trap was laid after receiving information regarding the bribery transaction. All three accused were arrested while taking Rs 1.20 lakh," stated ACB Director General of Police Ravi Prakash Mehrada.

During the operation, Rs 1.11 lakh in cash was recovered on the spot. Additionally, a search of Gupta's residence yielded approximately Rs 92 lakh in cash and a cash counting machine, while Rs 32 lakh was found at Chandrawat's residence.

Search operations are ongoing at the locations of other suspects, including Chief Manager Sudhir Mathur and other officials, due to their potential involvement in the case.

Meanwhile, in other news, a constable posted in Udaipur's Savina police station has also been arrested by the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) for allegedly taking a bribe of Rs 10,000. The ACB’s special unit arrested Chaudhary on Monday while he was accepting the bribe from the complainant, Prabhulal, who has alleged that Chaudhary demanded a bribe of Rs 10,000 in exchange for releasing his bus that was seized earlier for carrying 20 boxes of liquor to Gujarat.
