Weather update: The scorching heatwave continued in several areas of Rajasthan, including Bikaner and Jodhpur, on Friday, with Bikaner recording a maximum temperature of 45.5 degrees Celsius. However, a new weather system changed weather conditions in Jaipur and several other places in the afternoon, with strong winds and clouds rolling in. The Meteorological Department has issued a warning of intense and dusty storms to sweep across several parts of the state in the coming days. During this period, a slight decrease in maximum temperatures is expected, offering some relief from the heat.

According to Radheyshyam Sharma, Director of the Jaipur Meteorological Center, Bikaner, Nagaur, Jodhpur, Churu, Hanumangarh, and Ganganagar districts continued to grapple with severe heatwave conditions on Friday.

The maximum temperatures recorded during this period were 45.5 degrees Celsius in Bikaner, 45.2 degrees Celsius in Phalodi, 44.9 degrees Celsius in Churu, Fatehpur, and Ganganagar, 44.2 degrees Celsius in Kota, 43.8 degrees Celsius in Jaisalmer, 43.6 degrees Celsius in Karauli, 43.5 degrees Celsius in Pilani, and 43.4 degrees Celsius in Barmer.

However, due to the impact of a circulation system over western Rajasthan and neighbouring Pakistani regions, the weather changed in some parts of Jodhpur, Bikaner, Ajmer, Jaipur, Bharatpur, Kota, and Udaipur divisions in the afternoon.

Light rain accompanied by thunderstorms and winds at speeds of 40–50 kilometers per hour, was reported in several areas. In Jaipur, the maximum temperature during the day was 43.0 degrees Celsius, but the evening brought clouds and strong winds, offering some relief from the heat.

According to the Meteorological Center, tomorrow, May 11, there is a possibility of dusty storms with thunder and lightning at speeds of 40 to 50 kilometers per hour in some parts of Bikaner, Jodhpur, Ajmer, Udaipur, Kota, Jaipur, and Bharatpur divisions.

Similar weather conditions may persist on May 12–13 in some areas. As a result, there is a likelihood of a 2-4 degree decrease in maximum temperatures in the next 24 hours and relief from the scorching heat starting May 11.
