Rajasthan LoP Tika Ram Jully injured in road accident on Delhi–Mumbai Expressway, CM wishes speedy recovery

Rajasthan Leader of Opposition and Congress leader, Tika Ram Jully, was injured in a road accident on the Delhi-Mumbai Expressway when his car collided with a Nilgai. The incident occurred on June 5, and Jully was taken to Dausa District Hospital for treatment.

Rajasthan Leader of Opposition and Congress leader, Tika Ram Jully, sustained injuries in a road accident when his car collided with a Nilgai (blue bull) near Bhandarej on the Delhi-Mumbai Expressway. The incident occurred on June 5 while he was travelling from Alwar to Jaipur. He was immediately taken to Dausa District Hospital for medical treatment.

Political leaders express concern

Following the accident, Rajasthan Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma extended his prayers for Jully's swift recovery. "News of opposition leader Shri Tika Ram Jully ji being injured in a road accident in Dausa has been received. I pray to Lord Shri Ram for his speedy recovery," Sharma posted on X. Former Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot also expressed his concern and wished for Jully's quick recovery, mentioning he had spoken to the district collector to gather information about the incident.

Recent political landscape in Rajasthan

In the 2024 Lok Sabha elections, the BJP secured 14 out of 25 seats in Rajasthan, while the Congress managed to win eight seats. The CPI (M), Rashtriya Loktantrik Party, and Bharat Adivasi Party each won one seat. This marked an improvement for Congress, which had won zero seats in the 2019 elections. Notable victories for the BJP included Union Law Minister Arjun Ram Meghwal in Bikaner, Union Minister Bhupender Yadav in Alwar, Union Jal Shakti Minister Gajendra Singh Shekhawat in Jodhpur, and Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla in Kota.
