Ahead of the counting of votes on June 4, the India TV-CNX Exit Poll predicted a massive victory to the Bhartiya Janta Party in Rajasthan. According to the India TV-CNX Exit Poll results, BJP is likely to win 21-23 seats of the total 25 seats in state. While, the rival Congress  may settle with 2-4 seats. 

Rajasthan Elections 2024: Date of Polls

Polling across 25 seats in Rajasthan was held in two phases, on April 19 and April 26. While around 12 parliamentary constituencies voted in the first phase, the remaining 13 constituencies cast their votes in the second phase on April 26.

However, the combined voter turnout witnessed during both phases reported a sharp decline compared to the 2019 data. Overall voter turnout recorded in the 2024 Lok Sabha Polls stands at 61.60% for 25 seats in two phases, compared to the 66.07% voter turnout recorded in 2019.

Rajasthan Elections 2024: Date of Results

As announced by the Election Commission of India, the counting of votes for the 25 seats in Rajasthan, as well as the remaining Lok Sabha seats across the country, will be held on June 4. Of the total 545 seats in Parliament, polling was held across 543 seats during the seven phases of the Lok Sabha Polls 2024. The remaining two seats are filled by nominated representatives of the Anglo-Indian community.

Rajasthan Elections 2024: Main Parties and Candidates

The desert state of Rajasthan, which constitutes around 25 seats in Parliament, faces an uphill battle in the 2024 Lok Sabha polls as anti-incumbency and shifting political allegiance are turning out to be major challenges for the BJP and Congress in the state.

While the BJP, which has consecutively registered thumping victories in the state in 2014 and 2019 (winning 24 seats, with the remaining one won by its ally), may face a tough contest from Congress and its allies in 10 seats atleast.

Rajasthan Elections 2024: Key Constituencies and Candidates

  • Jaipur Rural: The constituency, considered politically significant due to its demographic diversity, will see a fight between Anil Chopra (INC) and Rao Rajendra Singh (BJP).
  • Jaipur: Jaipur typically holds significant importance due to its urban population and economic significance. BJP's Manju Sharma is contesting from the seat.
  • Jodhpur: Union Minister and BJP veteran Gajendra Singh Shekhawat is facing Congress's Karan Singh Uchiyarda in the parliamentary constituency.
  • Ajmer: BJP and Congress have both fielded candidates from the dominant Jat community. Incumbent MP and BJP leader Bhagirath Chaudhary faces stiff competition from Congress candidate Ram Chandra Choudhary.
  • Kota: BJP's Om Birla is contesting against Congress candidate Prahlad Gunjal.
  • Udaipur: Known as the "City of Lakes," Udaipur has both urban and rural areas that play a role in elections. Congress's Tarachand Meena is pitted against BJP's Mannalal Rawat.
  • Bikaner: The Bikaner Lok Sabha constituency will register an exciting contest this year as BJP candidate and Union Minister Arjun Ram Meghwal contests against Congress candidate Govind Ram Meghwal.
  • Sikar: Sikar holds considerable influence on the political landscape of the state. The constituency will see a battle between BJP's Swami Sumedhanand Saraswati and BSP's Amarchand.
