A damaged building collapsed near Ajmer Sharif Dargah in Rajasthan on Friday. The local authorities rushed to the spots and initiated rescue operations.
Earlier it was reported that around 4-5 people were trapped under debris, but the locals told that there was no one when the building collapsed, said the officials.
Chunaram Jat Superintendent of Police, Ajmer, said the local told him the building was vacant when the incident happened.
"The building was in poor condition. There was a court stay on the building due to a dispute over the ownership between the brothers. Coincidentally, yesterday only a building survey was done," he said.
The officials said due to the narrow lane, tractors and loaders were not able to reach the incident site so the building debris was being removed manually.
The police official said that there was no information about any loss of life in the incident.
“The rescue operation is ongoing,” he said.
