Sushma Swaraj, a senior BJP leader, passed away on Tuesday at the age of 67. Delhi Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia said her contribution to the national politics will be remembered forever.

Mamata Banerjee described Swaraj as an outstanding politician, a good human being with whom she had shared "many cordial times in the Parliament" though they differed in their ideology.

BJP working president J P Nadda said Swaraj was an example of an ideal personality, be as an opposition leader or as external affairs minister. The country will always remember her as extremely simple, empathic, robust,  energetic and impressive personality, Nadda said, adding her death is an irreparable loss to the nation and the BJP.

Sushma Swaraj, former External Affairs minister passed away at the age of 67 on August 6th 2019. She took her last breath at New Delhi's AIIMS hospital. Many celebrities took to social media to mourn the shocking demise.

The last tweet of Sushma Swaraj was: "Narendra Modi ji - Thank you Prime Minister. Thank you very much. I was waiting to see this day in my lifetime."

Just a few hours before she collapsed and died, former external affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj had tweeted her thanks to Prime Minister Narendra Modi for revoking Article 370 on Jammu and Kashmir. "Thank you Prime Minister. Thank you very much. I was waiting to see this day in my lifetime."

The firebrand leader, who underwent a kidney transplant in December 2016, had not contested the 2019 Lok Sabha elections due to health reasons. Condolences started to pour in as soon as the news of her untimely demise was out on the social media:

Though cabinet expansion may take place later, non-induction of these leaders from into the Cabinet on the day when PM Narendra Modi took an oath is sure to raise eyebrows.

After keeping everyone guessing as to whether she will be present for the swearing-in ceremony, Sushma Swaraj has arrived. She had given tea party a miss earlier.
