"Give me an example, which statements I have supported. The problem is media reports are completely unfounded. Frankly, it irritates me greatly whenever media talks about 'Tharoor's praise for Modi'," he told reporters on the sidelines of an event organised by NSUI at Delhi University.

Days after the KPCC directed party leaders to stop making public statements after a controversy broke out over Tharoor's statement that Prime Minister Narendra Modi should be praised for doing the "right things", Murleedharan, MP, said not "Oxford English" but "anti-Modi" stand had helped the party-led front win the Thiruvananthapuram seat.

Public Prosecutor Atul Srivastava read out the statement of journalist Nalini Singh, who was the friend of the deceased. The statement said: "I knew Sunanda for 3-4 years. The Lok Sabha on Monday passed the Repealing and Amending Bill, 2019, which seeks to repeal 68 Acts and makes minor amendments to four other laws as Shashi Tharoor (Congress) demanded the abolition of the Sedition Law and criticised the government for its misuse.
