The 'Kabir Singh' star sang 'Mehram Tu Hi Hain Mera', a song that has already caught the audience's attention as a part of the trailer. 

Shahid was last seen on the big screen in 2019's blockbuster 'Kabir Singh.' He is awaiting the release of "Jersey" which got delayed due to COVID-19 pandemic. The actor said he, along with the team of 'Jersey,' was cheering for 'Sooryavanshi' and is thrilled to see the audience returning to the theatres.

Drawing comparisons between working in an original film and a remake, Shahid Kapoor said he has been part of some original films which turned out to be "scary experiences" and that remakes are "helpful" in a certain way.

Jersey trailer: With Shahid headlining the film along with Mrunal Thakur and Pankaj Kapur, the movie has been directed by the National Award-winning filmmaker Gowtam Tinnanuri, who has also directed the original Telugu film.

Jersey is a remake of a Telugu film of the same title directed by Gowtam Tinnanuri. The original film starred actor Nani. The film, which is presented by Allu Arvind and produced by Aman Gill, Dil Raju, S. Naga Vamsi, and also features Pankaj Kapur. It is Shahid Kapoor's next mega release after his blockbuster outing 'Kabir Singh'.

Jersey: Gowtham Tinnanuri directorial film stars Shahid Kapoor along with Mrunal Thakur and Pankaj Kapur. It's a Hindi remake of the critically acclaimed and commercially successful Telugu Film of the same name. The story is about a talented but failed cricketer named Arjun, who decides to make a comeback in his late thirties and play for India, in order to fulfil his son's wish. 

Starring Shahid Kapoor in the lead role, Bull, directed by debutant director Aditya Nimbalkar, is set in the 1980s and is inspired by real-life events. 

In the yet-to-be-titled film, Shahid Kapoor will reportedly be seen essaying the role of a cop chasing the drug lords. The film is an adaptation of a French film, Nuit Blanche, which has already been remade in Tamil and Telugu as Thoongaa Vanam and Cheekati Rajyam, respectively. Other details related to the film are still under wraps.

Rajshri Films' Vivah released in 2006. It starred Amrita Rao and Shahid Kapoor in the lead roles. As the film clocked 15 years today, Amrita's husband RJ Anmol took to Instagram and shared an anecdote from his life related to the film. Sharing a beautiful picture with his dear wife he recalled how his mother, after watching the movie, had asked him to find a bahu (daughter-in-law) like Amrita's character in the film.
