Ravi Shankar Prasad is an Indian lawyer and BJP leader, who defeated Shatrughan Sinha in the fourth phase of Lok Sabha elections 2019 from Patna Sahib Lok Sabha constituency. He is also a designated senior advocate in the Supreme Court of India. In 2018 according to The Economic Times he features among the top twenty influential world leaders in digital technology and e-government.

The Muslim Women (Protection of Rights on Marriage) Bill, 2018, commonly known as the Triple Talaq Bill, was introduced in the Lok Sabha on Monday.
“We have two paths left. One, taking the Constitutional path to build the temple, and two, expect the Supreme Court to take up early hearing in this case,” Prasad said.
"Its wisdom continues to guide us in moments of crisis. It's in our best interest to heed advice under the constitution. If we don't, our hubris will result in sharp descent into chaos,” news agency ANI quoted him as saying during an event on Constitution Day.
Prasad further refuted Congress president Rahul Gandhi's allegations of corruption in Rafale deal.
The Union minister further said 2.24 lakh fake companies were caught after demonetisation was announced.
The notice says, "On October 28, 2018 at around 5.38 am you had posted a 2 minutes 16 seconds video clip of your press conference along with certain false untrue malicious and highly defamatory statements in Twitter."
Prasad also highlighted the exponential growth in mobile manufacturing in the country, backed by the rising base of smartphone users and internet penetration.
The IT ministry feels that technical solutions can be found to trace the originator of a message, without actually compromising end-to-end encryption, said a government official, who did not wish to be named.

"The people who will be most happy with the statements of leaders of Congress party are the terrorists in Pakistan. Congress will get a certificate from some terrorist organisations of Pakistan just like Ghulam Nabi Azad got the certificate from Lashkar-e-Taiba," Ravi Shankar Prasad said.
Replying to questions at the daylong India TV Conclave on "4 years of Modi government" here, the Law Minister said that there was unanimity among political parties on the National Judicial Accountability Commission Bill, but it was struck down by the apex court.
Giving stock of four years of Modi Govt on India TV Conclave, Prasad questioned Congress' legitimacy in making claims to the government when people had voted the party out.
