India's second Scorpene-class attack submarine INS Khanderi which was commissioned by Defence Minister Rajnath Singh on Saturday is expected to increase the country's maritime combat lethality by several folds.

Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan is going door-to-door around the world and creating content for cartoonists, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh said on Saturday.

"Pakistan broke up in 1971 – Pakistan and Bangladesh were formed. I am saying do not repeat the mistake, or else understand clearly what will happen to PoK," he said.

In a warning to Pakistan, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh on Wednesday said India took "great precaution" and did not attack Pakistan or its Army while carrying out strikes on a terror camp in Balakot but things may change if the neighbouring country does not mend its ways.

The Siachen Glacier, which once used to be a demilitarised zone, came under the strategic control of India in 1984 following 'Operation Meghdoot'.

Two days after the Army Chief said that terror camps in Pakistan were being reactivated, Defense Minister Rajnath Singh on Wednesday said Indian security forces were fully prepared to meet the situation.

"This terrorism bloodied Kashmir. Let's see how much courage does Pakistan have. How many terrorists will it produce?" Rajnath Singh said.

Defence Minister Rajnath Singh on Friday said the armed forces must be fully equipped to operate against chemical-biological attacks in the future. Singh was addressing a gathering at the Defence Research and Development Establishment (DRDE).

Last Friday in Goa, Tejas had successfully carried out an "arrested landing", a key performance demonstrating its ability to land on board an aircraft carrier, making it a major milestone in development of the naval variant of the fighter jet.

​Defence Minister Rajnath Singh will fly in the indigenous Light Combat Aircraft (LCA) Tejas over this tech hub on Thursday morning for a first-hand assessment of the 4th generation fighter, an official said on Wednesday.  

Singh held a meeting with officials of the Indian Council of Historical Research, the Nehru Memorial Museum and Library, the Directorate General of Archives, the Ministry of Home Affairs, the Ministry of External Affairs and the Ministry of Defence here on Tuesday in this regard.

The INS Khanderi, India's second Scorpene-class attack submarine, will be commissioned into the Indian Navy along with the first P-17 Shivalik class frigate and the aircraft carrier drydock on September 28.

"Human rights violation are going on since long in Pakistan. Those who went to Pakistan after partition are still insulted and termed "Muhajir". While in India all people feel safe and are respected," tweeted Rajnath Singh. 

Defence Minister Rajnath Singh on Saturday said it is "our national duty to stand by the families of martyred soldiers".

In a huge disappointment, communications from Chandrayaan-2’s Vikram lander to ISRO’s ground station here was lost before touchdown while the nation eagerly awaited its soft landing on the hitherto unexplored lunar south pole in the early hours of Saturday.

Singh also met Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe and conveyed to him India's commitment to further enhance defence engagements with Japan, officials said.

A defence ministry official said on Friday that Singh is scheduled to meet Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe and Lee Nak-Yon, Prime Minister of the Republic of Korea.

Pakistan should stop "crying" unnecessarily over India's decision to end the special status of Jammu and Kashmir and instead focus on dismantling the terror infrastructure operating from its soil, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh said here on Thursday. As tension between India and Pakistan escalated over the Kashmir issue, Singh said Islamabad does not have any locus standi on Jammu and Kashmir and it must stop interfering in India's internal affairs.
